Saban produces more Championships (SECW, SEC, National) and generally has much higher standards in all aspects of his football operation.

There's no debate about that to anybody except for the chronic and terminal "Pumper People" with their ever waving P&G pom poms.

BTW, totally don't care about personality or how nice of a guy the coach is................

This. And for the 426,358th time, he didn't leave LSU for Alabama. He left LSU for the Miami Dolphins. I appreciate what he did for LSU, and I will always have gratitude toward him for it. He certainly left LSU in a better place than he found it.

Jilted? frick no. Despise a prick who tells his college players he's staying then leaves? Hell yes.

Every coach who has ever left a job has done this. What in the hell do you think Miles did when he left Oklahoma State? Have you ever left a job? Just stop.

So far...the reply I agree with the most!

I agree, and that's exactly how I refer to that QB.

As far as Saban, I agree w/ OP. LSU fans that can't get over Saban are weak sauce IMO.

I'm talking about the fans wou would "take him back in a heartbeat".

LSU is bigger than any coach, even Saban.

He's a great coach, but I'm personally over him.

I never felt it. He's a good guy who did a great job at LSU. Then he took the right opportunity for him a couple of years later. It's what any of us would have done. I'm glad he's having success, though I wish we'd beat him more.

It most certainly was his departure cause that was the point in time he told everyone LSU was not good enough for him! It doesn't make him evil or anything for deciding LSU was no longer the place for him, but it was a "jilt".

As for a feeling it, that ended when Miles took a 9-3, 16th ranked 04 team and turned them into a 11-2, Top 5 team in 05.

I still appreciate what he did for LSU. Younger fans may not remember the frustration/despair of Charlie Mac through Dinardo, The Arnsparger years were the exception. We played to our potential during Arnsparger's tenure.

This. Saban is an a-hole. Good riddance.

I did think he would have success at Bama, especially with all of the outside help he would get that isn't available at LSU.

I just never thought it would be taken to "Mulligan" level. LSU Saban would never get that luxury (among many others)

I'm over the jilt. The 1/9 game was more painful than his leaving. The Arnsparger years were good in a sea of bad. Sablan made goid LSU football teams the norm. Nothing can take that away. He is our Spurrier. I still prefer him as a coach to Miles. The lack of preparation, language barrier and sometimes unwatchable football frustrate me. That being said this is a Jennifer Anniston vs Angelina Jolie issue. If we can't have Nick at least have a guy that is almost as good.

His life is miserable. Plus, he's at Alabama. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. He gone though. If LSU takes him out, we may hear it before Christmas.

Uh...

You do realize Saban and Miles both take nearly the exact same approach when it comes to building a team, game plan, etc.

Saban makes just as many boneheaded mistakes as any other big name coach. He does it every year. Hell, he consistently loses his biggest home game every year too. The list goes on and on.

Take a mulligan away from Saban, and he and Miles are neck and neck in accomplishments. That mulligan did wonders for history.

But that's what makes Saban so great, right? Give him enough chances, he will eventually get you! LOLOLOLOL
