you aint gonna get Roy Williams or Bill Self but no reason we shouldn't be able to get a Smart or Marshall.

No postseason and he's had 3 years of his guys. He has no ties to the south. Yes, it's time for a change.

It's time to part ways. The fan base doesn't care for the most part.

And we really tried. I know I did this year.

It's a bad product. Plain and simple.

Watched the dale brown doc last night. The coaching and the players from then to now is night and day.

What are LSU baseball's financial numbers? LSU must be content with just worrying about football and baseball. They could have all three if they wanted it.

LSU easily makes more on basketball right now than baseball. Imagine if we were winning...

Baseball essentially breaks even I do believe. Maybe a bit in the green.

very serious. Not sure if you're serious.

eta: someone posted a link the other day and LSU basketball was like the 101st most profitable program in the nation at 2.5 million or so. Baseball wasn't even on the list.

I just wish posters would stop making excuses for TJ and stop blaming Brady for the performance in 2012

This is TJ's team and he is the coach PERIOD

How much more would the basketball program make if we were winning?

I wonder.

but I just don't know. I'm not sure what we can accomplish with TJ at the helm. He could take Kentucky and lose 4 games I'm sure.

That's pretty sad. My dad hasn't coached basketball in about 20 years, and never coached any age higher than 8th grade, but mostly did 5th and 6th grade, and he could probably get them to 20-10.

I know jack shite about basketball, but with their talent, I could coach them to over .500.

eta: I'm greatly exagerating, this isn't a serious post. If I tried to coach even a team with as much talent as Kentucky, I would probably lose every game and run off every player within about 2 weeks.

say 3,000 seats are for students so they are free. sell the rest for 15 a piece then multiply that by 17 home games and you're looking at 2.5 million. Trent's salary is 1.2 million.

Then seat donations, concessions, and merchandise....

In basketball, LSU spent $4.1 mil and made in the $6 mil range.

I am not sure where we rank, but I do know that Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Vandy all spent over $6 mil on basketball to our $4.1.

ETA: My point was take the risk, spend $6 mil, and with the right hire and excitement, we will get 10k in the seats for SEC games (plus concessions, etc.)

If you got 11-12K in the pmac on the reg the concession numbers would be through te roof compared to what they are now.

This is all under the assumption that winning equals sell out crowds.

I'm not arguing it doesn't, but it is important to keep that in mind.

We were selling more than 13,000 tickets on the reg down the stretch in 09.

We need a new coach then.

Will it happen this offseason?

Something tells me TJ will be around for next season.

Unfortunately.
