Well then he should of gone to OM.

On a serious note, can't blame a guy for wanting to make some money even if it isn't top dollar in the league.

He read his own press clippings. A number of other competing programs have improved while we have not.

I thought he should have come back but why would any teams want to give a positive review. Most likely they would want him to stay under the radar so they could take him.

IDK but I have also heard that Miles works his players to hard during the week. That might also be why we play so much poorer late in the season.

They say he lacks strength and doesn't have power in his base. He plays with poor leverage, gets fooled and is bulled around, and they think he's a backup-quality player in the NFL

so what about all that makes you think that would change with another year in college? Could stay and blow out a knee and not get drafted at all. Just as likely he sink lower as he rise higher. Staying another year doesn't change anything. If he needs the money he needs the money.

Still had a year of eligibility left.

I know, but why would he come back?

Improve his strength, game, and draft status.

I've been noticing for the last few years our big O and D linemen don't do well on the bench press. Moffit is always on the radio say benchpress doesn't matter but we're steadily get pushed around

This is another guy who I thought to have been a coaches favorite. I never understood how he was in the starting lineup, with all of the guys behind him, most importantly, Josh Boutte. Boutte got benched for one bad call, yet Hawkins had the leeway to be mediocre for years. Hawkins was good for a holding, offsides, or a sack allowed, at some point during a game. Quite frankly, I have always thought of him as the weakest link of the o line.. I was shocked when he declared, but was far from disappointed that he was leaving.
Hopefully he gets drafted and proves the naysayers, including myself wrong. I am just not at all surprised at the information detailed in that report.

Moffit has not been getting job done lately nobody wants to admit that but it's true
This has been discussed a lot. But in Moffit's defense, we don't know what the coaches have asked him to do. I would imagine Chavis requested he keep the defense lean and fast as opposed to bulky, etc.

He was a 4year player and a 3year starter. It was time.

And he will be selected by the end of the 3rd round.

This is not true. Moffit is getting blamed for poor recruiting. Our dline was severely pushed around two years ago, and was occassionally pushed around last year. This was due to a lack of depth and youthful starters - not a crappy s&c program.

Our oline was strong last year. They ran into trouble against some really good defenses, but you have to consider that they had crappy blockers at tight end and fullback, and the lack of a passing game allowed teams to outnumber us at the line. Hawkins simply does not have the lower body to develop the kind of strength needed at that position.

Look at what monsters LSU turned out in Debo and Kwon - two skinny kids when they started.

Well since 2010 only 4 of our early departures have not recorded at least 1 NFL start..

Sam Montgomery
Chris Faulk
Michael Ford
Anthony Johnson

Ford played and so did Johnson. No idea about Faulk. Montgomery was a head case...not for the lack of physical abilities.

Debo is still small, he weighed in at 219 at the senior bowl.

Kwon got suspended for roids.

Not sure why you choose those two to make your point.
