Have any diehard fans here at one point become apathetic to following LSU FB?

Have ya'll ever experienced a time where it seemed like anything related to LSU FB/athletics just didn't matter anymore, but meant a lot/everything to you in the past. In that victories didn't bring you the same joy you once felt and losses didn't annoy you anymore than a fly at a restaurant does.

I've have been all consumed with LSU since I was 9 and loved following, attending and breathing in LSU FB up to this season. All of the ups and downs this team has gone through this season has only mustered a "meh" regardless of the outcome. I even skipped watching a few games (which happened to be good matchups we won) this season simply because I didn't have any motivation to do so. Any season before this I'd watch any cupcake game the whole way through because I enjoyed it.

I ask this just to see if anyone that has gone through this indifference rebounded and became reinvigorated by FB or any LSU athletics, regardless of their performance.

I'm moving that way. But because of our fans, not the team.

in August when our house was flooded in youngsville, then when the season started and i had to watch them lose to wisconsin from a hospital bed, this year has been pretty shitty and football was the last thing on my mind

As long as lsu wins 8 games a year for this entire century there is no reason to be down in the lsu experience. But if lsu loses against Louisville and the streak of 8 wins a year for an entire century is broken the lsu will become a steaming pile of shite

I don't think it counts if that happens this year because of the canceled game.

The lack of football knowledge and the acceptance of mediocrity grow every year. Kind of shocking when there are posts on the Rant saying "well, nobody can beat Saban so who cares?" or the truly off the wall coaching suggestions: "Why not keep Les & make him the special teams coach?" Is my personal favorite.

After 01/09 I have been able to let it go Sun-Fri. On Saturday's during the game I am all in. After the game I can let it go. The only time I have left a game mad since 01/09 was the Bama game 2 years ago. I was ready for Chavis to be fired that night.

One day those people will grow up and realize it's just entertainment is the grand scheme of life. I doubt anyone really put LSU that high on life's totem pole.

Yes, but when I experienced it Curley Hallman was the head coach.

I'll never lose my passion for LSU football. A major life event may distract my attention from it from time to time. But I'll never let fans, players or even coaches take LSU from me. Watching the Tigers play is just too special for me. I may gripe or grumble, but I'll never change my allegiance and I'll never stop caring.

Seems like Lsu administration isn't committed to winning championships.. Proof in the pudding by hiring a 60 yr old dline coach instead of finding a young innovative offensive mind. So many young talented coaches who can relate to the younger athletes and are smart innovative minds. Aranda fits that mold and I hope if O fails alleva looks at him if he's interested.

I'd say I've drifted that way, and it's because of the internet.

In my younger days I would be excited as hell to go watch a game in person during the Dinardo and even Archer eras. Some really shitty memories (e.g. Shaun Alexander) but still excited.

You throw the internet drama in and take away some of the uniqueness of a single game by have a message board or 247 updates making anything LSU more 'commonplace' and it is both hard to resist and see right on top of you.

The older I get, the less football seems to matter - I've totally lost interest in the pros and college is on the way. Actually, I don't think that it has anything to do with my age, but how much of a business sports in general have become.

Myself to some extent. I think having 3 kids and realizing what's actually important in life has changed my perspective. I believe it's made me less whacko. Now I tend to enjoy games and take them for what they are vs. having panic attacks when we blow a coverage or throw an interception.

I lost my passion after 2011, both the saints and the tigers broke my adolescent heart. I can't get emotionally invested now because I actually hurts. I still watch but only to enjoy i can't deal with the ups and downs.
