Easy answer: Final season of the Hallman Era.

So the worst record you've experienced is 8-4? How does 2-9 sound during the 90s? That's right 2 wins total and 0 wins in the SEC. at the end of that season there MAY have been 30,000 in Tiger Stadium.

LSU Baseball is my #1 because of the bitch fest called LSU Football.

I'll say this.

Things are much more fun when we make it Atlanta and beat Alabama.

Since 1/9/12 I've trained myself to not get so down after losses. It's a pointless game and one that I have literally no control over. That said, I still get equally excited for big wins.

I've grown up watching Saban and Miles tear up the SEC and this year I not only lost hope but I just tuned out. It's been disappointing and as much as I want to believe it will turn around next year, reality is that it probably won't.

yes.

It's been building since 1/9 and being able to tell that we were refusing to make any changes for the better.

This year on Thanksgiving the unthinkable happened, I forgot LSU was playing and missed the whole game.

Normally I don't miss a minute of an LSU game a season and if I have to, I'm following it intently on a phone. But this season it was just a steep fall into apathy. Got so busy with stuff on Thanksgiving that it wasn't until we were cleaning up that night that it hit me. I had totally forgotten about LSU football.

I hope this isn't the new norm, and I don't expect it to be, but I do know that I find myself needing to be more entertained by the style of play and quality of gameplay than I would have in the past.

Great thread.

I'm still completely addicted to LSU football, and will be for life, but it's definitely lost a lot of magic. For me, it was the two MNCs in the 2000s, and the coaching salary inflation.

I grew up watching some pretty good LSU teams in the McClendon era, and by the time I enrolled as a student, LSU was a top-5 team with Arnsparger. So, when the Archer/Hallman/Dinardo years came, I was beginning to wonder if it would ever happen in my lifetime. But I was such a fan, the losing only seemed to make it worse. I remember sitting in the southeast corner, behind the visitor section, doing the Fla. State tomahawk chop to annoy Florida fans late in the 4th quarter of an epic beatdown of LSU in the early 90s.

Then came the internet, and then Saban. I lived and breathed LSU recruiting, and SEC football internet in general. When it finally happened in 2003, it was pure magic. However, thereafter I almost immediately lost interest in recruiting, even though LSU was entering a golden age of recruiting. When LSU repeated in 2007, I was there, but only as a rabid fan. I was no longer a day-to-day lifer. Now, I'm lucky if I check Dandydon.com on a Friday before gameday.

Never. If you love the Tigers you are behind them 100% no matter what.

You see most 'Die Hard' fans remember much worse than 7-4. So the real die hard fans are sticking around. If you don't know losing records count your young blessings.

Have ya'll ever experienced a time where it seemed like anything related to LSU FB/athletics just didn't matter anymore, but meant a lot/everything to you in the past.

During the C. Hallman era, I completely stopped watching LSU football, after having followed them since the 1977 season. It was just too painful. I started following them again during the DiNardo years and have continued ever since. I'm hoping the Orgeron tenure doesn't turn me off again (fingers crossed).

Well, is "apathy" not getting up early for every home game morning and tail-gating and drinking all day and finding tickets and screaming until I've lost my voice?

Because I missed a few home games this year and just watched from my sofa... but I think it was more old age and being poor than it was not caring.

Never. Every loss hurts. Some hurt less than others, but they all hurt.

Yep. First 4 games of this season. After seeing the offense against Wisconsin I knew we'd had the wool pulled over our eyes yet again and nothing was changing until a coaching change was made. I didn't watch another game after that until Les got fired

Im as indifferent about watching LSU football as Ive ever been, including the bad late 80's/earlly 90's.

This team has such great talent, but we will never beat Alabama again as long as Saban is their HC and we dont have a QB.

These last few years Ive had a hard time watching any games after the Bama loss.

Since the disaster in the Superdome, it seems like every season ends with a bad Bama loss, and some awfulnes like Arky last year and Florida this year thrown in too.
