The last time someone affilliated with ESPN had something to say concerning LSU,that person was completely wrong and he made an arse out of himself.

Kirk Herbstriet=Miles to Michigan.

Ring a bell.

Ah, so you mean if instead of merely being the greatest QB to ever play for LSU, had he stepped up and been the greatest QB to ever play anywhere and the only one to never ever make a mistake, then we might have won another National Title?

ETA: I think I read your comment wrong, and I'm sorry about that. My bad.

this is not meant to 'bash' jamarcus, one of my favorite tigers, but he wasn't the greatest QB ever to play at LSU.

he made some poor plays in our two losses in 06, and right or not, that will be part of his legacy

stats say yes... but witness says no.
lee has a better touch and arm. we saw hatch roll out and force an interception instead of thrown it out of bounds. this is where havard went out the window. bad throw i can forgive but for someone who is hyped on his intel this was a black mark since that is all he had going for him.

ok correct me but they came here in the same year, no?

It looks like Jarrett Lee will start. The ESPN citation looks legit.

Yeah that's nice, but who is Les planning on starting at QB at Michigan, per ESPN?

What is with all this hatred for ESPN, if not for them Les might have left LSU!!! Gotta love it when an attempt at a knock LSU ends up helping.

PS: I still hate ESPN too.

I have flash backs of Georgia when Stafford was a freshman. He struggled and an upperclassman who had an arm about like Hatch was tried. He had one good game until defenses realized that he couldn't throw the ball then he stalled. Richt then inserted Stafford in the starting lineup for good and the team began to win. I expect Lee to be the full time starter by mid season.

So, you think Hatch will have 7 or less INTs and better than a 68% completion percentage?

Have you ever watched football before?

I agree with that sentence, and it is unfortunate.

But at least you didnt mean it in a bashing way.

While that statement is true, JR just gets a raw deal from fans who really dont know much about football.

ANY knowledgeable fan will tell you that JR's final season was MUCH better than Flynn's or Mauck's combined. Hell, JR lost 2 SEC games just like Flynn did. But we got some breaks, and next thing you know, Flynn and Mauck or heroes and JR was a bad decision maker.

Sucks for JR.

They want him to start so they can bash us that we can't find a good QB, we had to go to Harvard to get one...

Agree completely. Every game, the announcers will refer to him as "the Harvard transfer." He will get no love from the media. Eventually, someone will throw in a comment after he makes a mistake..."I guess that's what you get when you have a Harvard transfer leading an SEC powerhouse."

It really doesn't matter, because in the end the Tigers will have another "damn strong football team." At least he doesn't wear jorts...well...at least I hope he doesn't wear jorts.

It's like you guys watch a completely different TV then I do.

LSU got ALL the love last year, especially late in the season. ESPN was all over our jocks the entire season, but some people never noticed it.

As for this statement, it is the EXACT opposite. He will get ALL the love from the media because he is a great story, coming from Harvard, blah blah blah.

I'm 99.9% sure we will NEVER hear that comment from ESPN. It's just silly to think that.

Hatch has the confidence of Crowton and-- if he starts-- Miles. And he is accompanied onto the field by teamates named Helms, Black, Byrd, Lafell, Williams-Scott-Murphy-Ridley...et al. Why worry?...Ladies and Gentleman...welcome to the show!
