re: How can we fix public discourse? - lsusa
We need to evolve beyond Right and Left, Conservative and Liberal. These terms have no meaning anymore in today's world. We need to evaluate ideas as either good or bad. Flesh out the positive and negative consequences both in the short and long term.
Don't try to bring any lo...

re: What's Les Miles up to these days? - lsusa
LSU a/o the TAF need to do the right thing - go ahead and give Les a gig. Let him be an ambassador for LSU. Change the narrative to one that says "Les needed to retire, but he was too much of a competitor to do so and The firing actually helped him". The guy was the head coach for a National ...

re: Books on why the civil war was fought by both sides. - lsusa
The North- Poor people and Irish immigrants were conscripted into the Army and forced to fight. The South- good small farmers and working class were fooled by the Oligarchs (Plantation Owners) by being told it was a war for "state's rights" when in reality it was about cheap labor. Pretty muc...

re: Question for listeners to Buddy Diliberto's post-game shows - lsusa
don't know, I recall "sid" (from Jefferson I think) was a frequent caller as well as "Abdul" the tent maker and that's about all that comes to mind as "regulars"
Abdul the Tent Maker was the first one that came to mind. Buddy D wasn't Hap, but his show was entertaining ...

re: The ATL Thread: Mothers Day Edition - lsusa
I agree performance wise, but it would probably be keeping Colon in he rotation and putting Dickey in the pen. Dickey could be effective as a long man or a one inning guy and pitch almost every day....

re: Food stamps for felons.....but let's cut TOPS - lsusa
As others have said, FS are funded by the Federal government while TOPS is State....but don't let facts stand in the way of outrage that supports the narrative .... The Rule about drug felons came into being as part of the reforms under Clinton and was mainly to support the narrative. Murder...

re: Employee Complains: "Company bases promotions on merit instead of experience" - lsusa
I work for an organization where promotion isn't based on either merit or seniority. A few weeks back at a staff meeting they gave out service pins. Among those receiving 5 year pins were a "manager" and three supervisors, one of which was promoted to manager a week later. As they got to ...

re: When did it become commonplace for us to swing at so many first pitches? - lsusa
Been this way for at least ten years. No working the count. No choking up with two strikes or trying to go the other way. College Baseball has now fully morphed into just another level of little league....

I'll go with "strongly like". Didn't get a "difference maker" but got great value with two players who are better than their draft position. Honestly, Foster will probably do better far away from home than he would in NO....
