Well what was the problem? He is the most athletically gifted, "he is the smartest", he had three veteran WRs that are now in the NFL, and a more experienced OL, yet he never won a championship of any kind.

1-Road game at Auburn vs. home game against Auburn
2-Road game at Florida vs. home game against Florida
3-No healthy running backs (except an unprepared true freshman who had missed almost all of fall practice) vs. a stable
4-Another SEC west team (who played a joke of an SEC schedule) going 7-1 in conference play despite a LOSS to us vs. being able to win the west with a 6-2 record despite losing at home to that same western division team.
5-An almost entirely rebuilt offensive line vs. a more experienced veteran line
6-Jimbo Fisher vs. Gary Crowton

That's just a few off the top of my head. Want some more?

Since LSU hasn't started fall PRACTICE yet, how the hell does ESPN know who will start at QB ? They're idiot.

Do not question Kirk Herbstreit's knowledge.

This is what drives me crazy, just because he went to Harvard does not mean he will be smarter on the field. JaMarcus actually is VERY smart when it comes to football. I think the only thing you can really knock on with JaMarcus is his own confidence in his abilities. He just believed he was going to complete all of those throws and who can blame him, look where he is now.

We played a MUCH tougher schedule that year, AND the tougher games were on the road, so that 2 loss regular season was better than last year's 2 loss regular season. I mean, we lost to Arkansas and Kentucky for crying out loud.

the right side of the OL had not played that position since HS

Umm, do you realize the Oline was MUCH better during Flynn's year?

The FACTS are painfully obvious, that is why 90% of football fans know JR was better.

Why does "the greatest QB in the history of LSU" always need a list of excuses?

I don't remember any other player who ever played for the Tigers who needed a spin section to enhance his reputation. Bottom line, like Peyton Manning, he is gifted, he earned a lot of personal accomplishments, but he didn't get it done. No Championships.

IMO, LSU played better vs Miami and Ohios State, when led by Flynn than we did vs Georgia and Notre Dame. Check the turnovers by each Quarterback in those games. Those were probably the biggest games in both their careers and they were in the same cities, Atlanta and New Orleans. The big difference is that Russel had much more experience as a starter.

1. Arkansas had no problem at Auburn the following week.
2. Check the turnovers by the quarterback in that game.
3. Hester was on the bench during that game. He did pretty good with Flynn.
4 ?
5. You are counting Hitt and Stewart as veteran offensive linemen. Hmmm?
6. Jimbo had no problem with offensive production when Rohan, Mauck, or Flynn was the quarterback. IMO, if Rohan had played for Jimbo or Crowton for four years he would have set offensive records that probably would never have been broken. I watched the Illinois game again last night. Rohan to Reed, who was the OC in that game? The problem with some Ranters is their short memory. Do you remember the offensive records set in the Alabama game that year.

The Notre Dame game elevated JR to the #1 selection spot. I don't know how a hatch thread turned into a Flynn vs Russell debate.
