We went 6-2 in the SEC that season, a better conference record than any of the past three years.

In a grossly inferior SEC. Not impressed.

This is true for me too...

However... The one win in the last 15 years that gave me less joy was the infamous bluegrass miracle...

Yep.. I said it!

We played very poorly most of that game. Pretty disgusted with our performance overall.

Still glad we won..

I did not tell you how to feel. I merely stated what my opinion of people who feel as you do is.

2005 in Nashville wasn't much better. LSU had 4 or 5 turnovers, and it was something like 12-6 or 14-6 going into the 4th quarter, with the final being 34-6. The only fun sitting in that high school stadium was watching Cutler slowly get angrier and angrier as the game went on and yelling at every lineman and coach he could find

No, but my impression from my review of many of comments over the years on this board is that many members here get no joy from any of LSU's wins.

More of that biting wit of yours. It's a true craft, what you have. If I were to say that you do not possess the ability to say anything witty at all, ever, I would be saying the complete opposite of what is true.

2004 Vanderbilt may have already been mentioned. LSU D kept Cutler in check all night, and LSU ran for >6ypc and thus never aired it out at all en route to a snoozer of a 24-7 win. While a great example of how much control the team could impose on its opponents, there were no memorable plays, and the crowd was uncharacteristically chill for an SEC night game.

Count me in the every win makes me happy camp, but watching Ben Wilkerson's career come to an end on one of the last snaps of the game was definitely the piss chaser to a shite sandwich of a game.

While the UT win is the clear favorite here, and pretty much the only even somewhat reasonable answer given how it went down and the mindset of the fanbase post OM 09, I found so much joy in watching Dooley's twat face bleed all over his orange pants that I was pretty much immediately over any anger I had.

The thought that it was surely the final nail in Crowton's coffin while still getting a W also made me pretty damn happy.

So many UNC 2010 game responses are a head scratcher to me, although given the lack of perspective and disrespect of Miles by so many on this board, it probably shouldn't.

LSU was preseason ranked in the 20s, and UNC was ranked above us. Yes, they were without a ton of talent on defense, but that was still a decent team and it wasn't like LSU was supposed to be some powerhouse early on.

Patrick Peterson broke the damn sound barrier on one of his many highlights of the night which started Heisman talk and his ascent up draft boards.

The comeback was painful, but only started because Chavis pulled all of his starters when we were up by 20 with 10 minutes left in the game and UNC at their own 3 yard line. Seriously, I doubt there were 3 starters on the field when Yates threw that 97 yard bomb to knock the lead to 13.

Even then, the offense moved the ball well enough but Ridley just inexplicably coughed the ball up when LSU was putting the game away.

Far from a pretty win, but for anyone to say they got no joy from a game we dominated for 50 minutes against a team ranked higher than us and would have won easily if not for two pretty flukey plays that kept them in it, it's just pissy grapes from people that look for anything to bitch about when it comes to our head coach.

I will say this, I got much less satisfaction from the 2011 SECCG win, which should have been a coronation, than I should have because I was so angry about the possible Rematch looming.

I knew that they were the only team that could beat us, and the fact that the media never gave us any credit for that amazing upset road win in November just pissed me off and ruined what should have been the greatest day in LSU football history after completing one of the most amazing seasons in college football history.

I enjoyed the win of course, but that nagging thought that Saban was going to be gifted a mulligan, just stuck with me until the next day when The Rematch was officially announced.

I wanted so badly to see our amazing defense go against the high scoring Big 12 Champ and Miles' former team. I think it would have been a great matchup on paper, but have full confidence that our D would have been fired up and put on a show stopping them.

But I convinced myself the next few weeks that I was happy about The Rematch and this time we would leave no doubt and finally get Miles the credit he deserved for besting Saban, but it was all false bravado. I fully expected another low scoring slugfest nail biter and knew it would be a coin flip to decide the champ, but thought we could at least count on a split title.

I never saw McCarron's performance coming though. He was so effective at placing those passes just over the shoulder that our stellar DBs just couldn't make a play. He hadn't shown me he was capable of that before.

With our O unable to do anything against that all time D, which I fully expected, he just kept chipping away and eventually it added up to a score that even denied us a share of the title with a team we split with that didn't win the conference.

frick you ESPN. frick you right in your bitch arse faces.

2010 UNC game hands down..

that was the first game of the season when we had high expectations

The Troy game came when the season wasn't going to be special anyways, otherwise I'd say that

The Tennessee game was so ridiculous to the point where it became comical

That whole chain of events was f'd up on so many levels, the worst of which was the fact that an undefeated LSU team was forced to win an additional game against a solid opponent for the opportunity to play a team that it had already beat in the NCG. There's no rationalizing how terrible the system was that allowed that to happen.

If a similar chain of events was applied to a tournament, it would've been analogous to the #2 seed getting a bye while the #1 seed has to play the #3 seed.

Meh, it wasn't the system, it was what ESPN wanted, and they own the sport.

If OSU was Oklahoma or Texas, they play LSU. Simple as that.

If LSU loses the "Game of the Century", LSU goes to the Sugar Bowl, which is where Bama should have gone.

All 2011 did was reaffirm what level LSU was in the eyes of the pundits.

Looking back on it, I'm happy that it happened. Put things in perspective for me as a fan of a sport that is nothing more than a beauty pageant with favorites already picked ahead of time. CFB is entertainment and entertainment only, with 5-7 teams that will always be "in the running". This is no different than what the NBA does/is.
