It was the embarrassing performance that caused the comeback that makes me hate it.

No joy to see the beginning of Jamarcus? The rain didn't help that night either...

That Tennessee game was the first thing that came to mind.

The fact that it happened less than a year after the Ole Miss Clock debacle made it even worse. I wanted Miles fired after that game (UT) even though we "won".

I pictured that one before I clicked on that thread. I felt no joy, only embarrassment.

Bless those who were able to enjoy that. I just wasn't.

Suddenly, LSU players were fetching helmets they'd thrown on the ground in frustration. Handshakes between opponents were cut short. LSU coach Les Miles had already tossed his headset aside, cutting him off from communication with offensive coordinator Gary Crowton, while he sought out an official on the field to see what the flag was for.

"I had to call a play because I had nobody to talk to," Miles said.

He called the right play in the end, but said that did not absolve the coaching staff or Tigers players from a mistake-filled performance that came within a whisker of costing them their first loss.

"I don't know that we could play any sloppier. I don't know that we could have planned it any more poorly," Miles said. "We're a very talented team. I don't think we played near to our capacity. The series of downs on the back end of that game was embarrassing to me."

Pretty sure Les agrees with most of you.

I thought that game was one of the least "prepared" of the Saban regime. No emotion in the Tigers whatsoever. Serna gifted the game and win to us. Yes, I was really excited to see Jamarcus, but knew we would get a lot of Randall, and I had little faith in him. In hindsight, Oregon State had some legit talent, so the close win is not as surprising looking back. A win is a win, but i thought they were flat as can be in that win. Yes the rain caused a delay and neutralized the field. Also, the LSU phd streaker getting naked on field didn't help.

Well that Oregon state game I was a student and just remember having several dudes just tackle me with joy. Yeah my clothes were ruined from the rain, but that was a crazy fun game.

Are you kidding me?

That was one of the best games i ever went to.

You could see every human emotion in the span of 2 minutes.

Happens all the time. Eastern Michigan last season for example. Should have absolutely destroyed that crap team.

Another game that I though was absolutely miserable was against Dooley again in 09 against la tech and Lee was down rt awful. He didn't even want to be out there.

quote:

The crowd cheered in the fourth quarter when multitalented freshman Russell Shepard lined up in Lee's place and scampered 14 yards for a first down, then booed again when Lee returned two plays later.

Poor babies. Did that mean old LSU football team trigger micro aggressions in your safe space by applying their jock privilege thereby causing you to have a casual degradation of your self esteem?

I was a student as well, so I was right there with you, dude. I was watching it with my girlfriend at the time and she complained the whole time about being wet. Really I was probably just disappointed in her.

Sat in the EU during that TN game where we got the mulligan.

I've never seen a group of fans do a 180 like that section of fans sitting around me.

I heard fans yelling for Miles to DIAF, and then when LSU scored, those same fans were jumping up and down wanting Les to come eat dinner over at their house.

LSU vs. Iowa in the 2014 Outback Bowl. We should have won that game by 30 but our offense was atrocious.

Any win over an in-state school, including Tulane. There's no upside other than a "W" in the record book. Tremendous upside for them should they ever pull an upset.

Same goes for the Sam Houston States, Middle Tennessees, etc.

I was excited that we won but it hit me how embarrassing the finish was as I left the stadium. Dooley's reaction to that loss was priceless though.

That Troy game was exciting, I don't care if they should have been in that position or not it was still an epic comeback. The cold sure sucked though, one of the coldest games in Tiger Stadium I can remember.

Unfortunately, LSU under Miles has dozens of wins that were frustrating to watch. I can count several games where they either played down to their opponent or Miles just played it safe with an ugly win. To say I got no joy from them just goes a little too far in my opinion. I'm always happy to see LSU come out on top.

But, if I had to name a game then Tennessee is the only answer for me. I have never booed an LSU team before that day and I have never since. It was such a frustrating game to watch. Jefferson goes to the house on a keeper on the very first series and we get 3 pts the whole game after that until the very end. I was soo mad after that debacle, I didn't care if they scored or not. I mean, I did care, but I knew the outcome wouldn't make me happy.
