Lots of ignorance in this thread. Entertaining though.

25. We've lost 23.

We've lost 18 over the past 2 years, while they've lost 17 to the Draft over the same time frame.

Yet, we're hoping for an 8-4 season, while they're fully expecting a playoff bid.

Was miles a great hire when lsu chose him?

Hell, was Saban? He was 34-24 at Mich St, a 58.5% win % and a relative unknown.

The thing is, there are great coaches out there that are not well known yet. Could be a head coach, could be an O or D coordinator.

Most people only look at or know the "big name" coaches and since they are all locked into contracts and doesnt look like they will be leaving their current job, people think there arent any good coaches available or whatever. And thats just not true.

And Im not saying we should fire Miles or whatever. I like Les. Hes not perfect and def has made mistakes, but I like him and I love the staff hes hired. And I dont think Les should be fired either. But the people that say "there arent any great hires available" are just wrong. There might not be any big named coaches available, but there are def some really good coaches out there, and most of them are guys we probably have never heard of.

Yes. It's most obvious in the trenches and the fact that our coaches are stuck in the 70s.

That's what happens when you have a historic run of #1 recruiting classes. We could debate all night about the various ways and reasons Bama gets 5* kids to line up at every position, but the reality is they do and that's why they can keep reloading year after year.

Granted that the Tigers didn't play well but I am wondering if Mississippi State is not better than they are given credit for.

I realize that the Tiger performed poorly but hopefully they were just out of sync in the game. Les must remember that the best defense is a good offense.

Too much talent at this point to be mediocre.

We have, and our numbers show it. Our team does as well, and so does our fan base.

The most excited I've seen our fans get in years was when Auburn blocked Alabama's field goal last year. Mediocrity has settled in the LSU community.

Hard to correct what's happen to us regarding NFL draft last 2-3 years. IMO that's the reason we are where we are.

True...up to a point.
The guys that have left in the last 2-3 years were in the pipeline to replace the guys that left before them. I don't see the talent to replace those guys at those positions as we have had in the recent past.

Yep. That falls onto recruiting, doesn't it?
