Things ebb and flow. But I think with his track record--even at 5 and 7 miles has still averaged 10 wins per season for a decade--Miles gets two more years.

We'll have two QBs with solid experience, both of whom have solely been under Cam's guidance, and talent coming out of our ears. Just give Jeff Grimes the boot and bring Mawae in (preferably after the New Mexico game) and I think LSU has a chance to finish top 5 the next two years.

I know. It's pretty pitiful.
But I've come to expect it from these losers.
They don't make me anyway less of a fan or ruin my enjoyment of the greatest era of lsu football. I just feel bad for them that they are so miserable that they would rather lose and be right than enjoy the day.

If you want to fire Les (like you do after every loss) what's your plan for replacing him? What great hire is waiting in the wings? Firing a successful coach and replacing him with a Muschamp-like dud will result in the decline actually being real.

kinda like Florida and Georgia. Auburn has 2 SEC titles and 1 major bowl win (also a few abysmal seasons). Alabama is the only team who's been better. So how sobering is it really?

Yes. Since 1/9/12 we have not recovered honestly. This program is in slippage mode.

There are two definitive elite programs right IMO...Alabama and Florida State.

There are two more that are fringe elite...Auburn and Oregon.

There are a handful that are right on the outside looking in...Oklahoma, Ohio State...maybe Stanford and LSU.

LSU has been ranked in the Top 10 almost every season, at some point, since 2002 if I am not mistaken.

I do think we are at a crossroads in which the wheels could come off for a while. That said, because of geographic advantage alone, and now coupled with the awakening of the last 15 years, I don't think LSU win ever have a decade long period of not being a SEC and national title contender.

i remember all these posts back in 2008.

OH MY GOD...WE'LL NEVER BEAT BAMA, AUBURN, OR FLORIDA OR WIN THE SEC WEST OR WIN THE SEC EVER AGAIN AS LONG AS LES MILES IS HERE!

i wish Al Gore had never invented the internet because it made me realize how many chicken little pussies are in our fanbase. every time we lose a game its the demise of the program.

Our DTs and OL are a problem. More worried about our DTs than OL because we have a lot of talent on the OL and returned 4/5 starters from last year. We shouldnt have started like we have, but I would think we settle down at OL. DTs is another issue.

This in a nutshell is where the problem is.
Our recent top rated recruiting classes have been loaded with skill players but weak on interior linemen on both sides of the ball.
At the earliest this will take a year or two to correct.

Hard to correct what's happen to us regarding NFL draft last 2-3 years.

IMO that's the reason we are where we are.

Is that why bama was close to threepeating last year after losing a bunch to the nfl in previous years???? Just curious??

Sobering statistic despite the sunshine pumping.

How about we don't count this year and instead count 07-13. In that 7 year period LSU has 2 SEC championships, 2 national championship appearances, 1 national championship, a cotton bowl, and some smaller bowl victories.

Not a terrible 7 years. We are in the midst of a step back to gain momentum in 15 and 16. 2014 will not be a banner year, nor was 08.

Just another perspective.
