Most on this board will not remember the 1958 national championship team but as I recall, Warren Rabb and Durel Matherne did a fairly good job....

Guice will only be a junior next year ...

re: Les Better Get a Grip on Harris

Give Etling a break - hasn't played in a game for well over a year. He did get J'ville State's attention though and that surely opened up the running game.I feel for Harris though, can't imagine how it feels to be taken out. I'm sure that he feels the world is upon his shoulders....

Well said good man, well said, indeed ...
I hope that you are correct on your predictions. I know that Harris threw for quite a few yards against Ole Miss which equated to 50% completion rate. I also looked back on his completion percentage rate in high school - - three years and roughly a little over 50% completions. I wish him the best an...

"Cholly Mac" could be beaten but it was extremely hard to beat him running the football. Bear Bryant and Johnny Vaught knew that for a fact!...
Absolutely! Game in and game out. The better coaches and teams have watched the films well!...
That sir, is great summation. True, Harris can sling it but will Les allow him to do so. You know that Les is a die hard three yards and a clouds of dust. Hopefully Les will not allow us to be embarrassed at home. :geauxtigers:...

I think Darrell is a much better back than what "knucklehead Les" realizes....
Congrats to Florida. Florida already lost one game and LSU doesn't get a second chance. We won the SEC West and the SEC Championship outright. In retrospect, our base running may have cost us the game....
I second the motion for a fundraiser. Count me in! Can someone close to the AD take the initiative. Prayers for the family....

Wendell Davis would be an extraordinary selection - the man could catch a football and had technique to go with it. I hope that he is selected. Very worthy....

re: Starting Defensive Line?

Clark is a defensive end. Speed rusher and weighs in ~250. He is too light for the DT position....
Good question, but then again an aggressive offense keeps the defense off the field so as the old saying goes - the best defense is a great offense. These days it's the name of the game.:usa: ...
I don't think we have to be overly concerned about an conservative offense unless a key player pops out of the blue or an alternate with much swag and determination settles in. We have an arsenal of "hand grenades" but required someone to pull the pins! :usa: ...
   You sir have hit the nail dead on!...
Yes sir, if they are SEC I love them all, I always pull for any SEC team, LSU being the first priority of course. SEC fall? I don't think so - just in recess this year. They will be back on top soon and then the SEC haters will be back crying again. LSU forever! SEC forever! :usa:...
Yes, he came back in. He is a great player and I regret that LSU didn't nab him....

Sumlin is not on the ascent nor is he elite. He fell into the spotlight with Case Keenan at the University of Houston and managed a mediocre team, same at A&M with being at the right place at the right time, especially with "Johnny Football." Don't read me wrong though because A&M is an elite sch...
