so its too soon to give grades.
I tend to the agree with this.
Keeping Aranda and getting Canada and Tommie Robinson were good moves
the signing class was great given the circumstances

I will never understand how you guys can grade the No. 7 class as anything but an A. Especially when the class addresses our biggest needs.
Agreed. Very difficult to pull in that solid of a class in the position he was in. There could have been a couple of cherries on top that we didn't get but it was a very good class. We pulled 3 of the top 7 players in Texas and got a couple of really good players from Tenn.

Gameday coaching c plus. Recruiting A minus.

Grandad, if you think my opinion is wrong, please explain your reasoning instead of your usual grouchy, conclusory pap. Same goes for your theory that Canada was always the No. one choice for OC.
Or do you need facts to support your opinions?

Too early... He didn't "retain" Standard, the dude was already under contract. Also Canada until he actually calls a game for LSU I reserve judgement. Crowton and Cameron came with a lot of hype as well and faltered. I believe most of the school records came with Crowton as the OC as well.

B- overall. Missed out on a couple of high profile commits I think he was all in for, and while he's not the reason LSU lost to Florida, it was on his watch and very disappointing. However, the team seems to have way more energy under his leadership.

He was the recruiting coordinator before being hired as HC. He has been recruiting these recruits for over a year.

Didnt know he only became the recruiting coordinator in spring of 2016.
My bad.
My point still stands. He has been recruiting these same recruits for over a year.
He isnt coming into a new program where he hasnt been recruiting these recruits.

Many of these recruits had relationships with Les, Cameron, and peveto. Orgeron had to do a lot of damage control and keep the class together, which is very difficult under the circumstances.

You have no idea if thats true.
Stop acting like your opinion is a fact.

Its far easier than going into a new program where he doesnt have any kind of relationship with that program's recruits.

Well the fact that most classes fall apart during a coaching change leads me to believe it is the truth.

Most classes dont have their recruiting coordinator become a head coach.
He already had relationships with these recruits and every recruit knew miles was on the hot seat and they still committed.

He did have an advantage by being on staff already, but to not lose any recruits during the coaching change and finish the way the staff did at positions of need is nothing to take lightly. Most coaches could not do what he did.

This coaching change wasn't the same as "most" since a coach was promoted from within. The Recruiting Coordinator that had relationships with all of the commits at that.

Go 3-21 in conference play over 3 years at Ole Miss? I don't think anyone else has ever done that, it's quite the accomplishment.
