He hasn't screwed up but he really hasn't done anything that Les Miles wouldn't have achieved if he stayed, except hire a new OC. And that was a choice given to O.

Well if im being unbiased he has had a good offseason. Keeping the class together and hiring Canada is something that should be applauded. Im just saying that in no way was he handed a bad situation. I agree with you on that.

Right, the fact of the matter is he got a hugely talented team and the no. 5 recruiting class. The program was now liberated from the coaching malpractice of Les Miles and Cam Cameron.
In short, he was dealt an awesome hand and he hasn't screwed it up.
His proof will be in the record next year, so its too soon to give grades.

Coaching Staff: B-

Recruiting for 2017 class: C+

Recruiting for 2018 class: B+

Roster management: C-

None of this matters, we need to see how the team does next year.

#7 class in the country is only a C+?

We'll see. We always have these supposedly great classes but then the recruits don't live up to potential.

no complaints thus far, but none of this grading really matters. It's all about wins and losses in the fall.

If we're "Grading Coach O since he was hired as HC" on his accomplishments to date, this year's #7 class > C+.

The only glaring thing that hurt coach O was that dam lose to florida.I know this was before he was hired as a head coach. Having only lose to bama by 10 and fixing that with a great oc hire canada he would be much brighter in more peoples eyes. I think if lsu starts out 4 or 5-0 with a great d and some inovation on offense then coach O will start to build his reputation as a good coach

Well you're a certified dumbass. based on points, this class is rated 3 points lower than the 2014 class. Based on player average, it's the highest rated class we've had. Serious talent from top to bottom.

I don't know. Not having a permanent dline coach or special teams coach does not get an A+.
I agree, Jenkins should be titled an analyst not a coach, but Orgeron probably still coaches the DLine with Jenkins assistance is why he probably hasn't hired anyone. And just hire a special teams coach already instead of having two guys in analyst roles. I'm sure there are a few good qualified people out there capable of doing the job. Daric Riley would leave SMU I'm sure.

my knowledge no team has expressed interest in hiring former LSU HC Lester Miles too date.

He is 63. Show me all these 63 year old coaches getting offers from major programs. There are all of 2 coaches miles age or older at p5 programs and one of them is Saban.

We don't have a spot for a special teams coach until the 10th position is approved.

This class is overrated and won't pan out. We'll have some solid defensive talent, but the offensive issues will continue.

I'm not sure you understand the idea of being limited on a max of players on a team and the fact of a transition year taking place and still being number 7...

yeah, that is certainly a "sunny" evaluation of Da Coach O

yes it is and yours is a very "cloudy" evaluation pretty much dissing all of the factors. and Canada was not the 3rd or 4th choice. he MAY have even been the #1 choice. the "mob" opinion on here was Kiffin but I don't think it ever was.

and yes, the jury is still out. the OP stated SINCE HE WAS HIRED.

That's not true, Orgeron was definitely after Kiffin and was trying to do everything in the world to lure him to BR(And I still don't understand why?) including stupidly offering a QB recruit that was 100% committed to Alabama and in the process almost cost LSU Brennan and Narcisse. Canada wasn't his 3rd or 4th choice, true, but he wasn't on Orgeron's radar until Aranda suggested him.
