Yes we always turn there without any permit. Will this be like that this week or was just due the SU extravaganza and exceptional crowd on campus?

Yeah it's 150k+ people leaving the same 1,000 acre campus at the same time. A campus built for 1500 students and without the knowledge that we'd have a 102k seat football stadium surrounded by cars, RVs, trailers, etc, etc.

Nobody has figured out that contraflow down Burbank is pointless if it all 5 lanes used are forced to merge into 2 lanes where the median begins right after Jennifer Jean. The westbound side is then completely empty as nobody is heading back that direction anyways

They need to be using all 4 lanes and force the traffic to go either turn on Lee or go all the way down to Staring.

This.

People don't understand basic logistics.

It has always been like these and will always be like this.

If LSU wants less people to go to the games they sure are doing a good job of making sure of that.

nobody goes because it's too crowded.

some guy...threw the barricade next to the cop car into a ditch.
Some drunk broad with no shoes was directing traffic.
I would have paid money to see this.

This is how I know you didn't go to the game. This was waaay different from usual. I've been going to every home game the last 15 years with the same parking pass. The cops had closed roads they've never closed before. It has never taken 2 hours to get from the Acadian exit to W. Lakeshore. Someone had some horrible ideas about managing traffic to start this season.

Well, I saw on a couple occasions cops letting side road cars into traffic on river road ( that's ok ) but, don't let them flow longer than your main road does.

Traffic has always been a nightmare but you used to be able to park much much closer and then sit in traffic. Walking a mile and a half and then sitting in traffic for a long time just pisses people off.

Was this in Lot 413? Is that a pay lot? It is marked as a pay lot but i thought that was traditionally one of the free lots on that side of campus...

Looking at the parking map, I believe it was Lot 413. Its a free lot.

I saw several people allowed into the parking lot where I park without a tag. So, if you arrived late, I bet you didn't get a spot. That's BS, especially for a paid parking spot.

Yes I understand this. However folks reaching a paid lot with a permit they paid for and being told sorry the lot is full is a whole other thing!! Roads closed to permit only that have never been closed before without any signs telling people they can turn there if they do have a permit is a whole other thing!! Also the cops at that closed road were making no effort at all to let people know they could turn if the had a parking permit!! No police were directing traffic or controlling lights or doing anything right out side of campus in an effort to even try to make things any better!! What I am talking about is all pregame issues because I could never even make it to our paid lot and just went home.

I suggest bombing Scott with emails about the traffic and parking. Might do nothing or it might move them to at least try to come up with some better plans. Include specifics so they realize the problem is all over the place.

I noticed tons of out of town police so I think it's clear the city doesn't have the manpower like previous years.

Also, a good majority of people are trying to head South after the game. Heading North toward downtown & hopping on 110 is a better option. We parked in the levee lots, stayed for the entire game, ate at Fat Boys after and made it home for 11:30.

People expect traffic but it seems to get exponentially worse for certain areas for no reason. Something is wrong if it takes two hours to get out of the Alex Box lot for a 50+ blowout against a non-SEC team. There has been a breakdown with traffic control for certain roads over the past few years.

This game was quite the exception as you had literally everyone in Baton Rouge in the same spot, there was only so much that could be done.

Yea I’d be interested in how it goes this weekend with an interesting of town team.

But if cops weren’t working lights and closing certain streets I don’t see how it can get better

Great advice but I think that's the East/South-East side of the campus !

THIS !! The 'plan' seems to have been focused on somehow keeping our NBR visitors OFF of certain roads/areas ! = FAIL LOL !
