I posted this in other threads, but I'm still shocked that they had all of the people in the levee lot being blocked in by an empty cop car for over an hour.

Finally, some guy wised up and threw the barricade next to the cop car into a ditch and opened the gate for us. Some drunk broad with no shoes was directing traffic.

When the cop finally showed up, and tried to close the gate, he had a near riot on his hands, and finally gave up.

Was this in Lot 413? Is that a pay lot? It is marked as a pay lot but i thought that was traditionally one of the free lots on that side of campus...

I got to campus in 12 minutes from College/I10 at 7:15ish, got back after the game in 24 minutes around 10:30. Getting out from the Cow Palace was a breeze and I parked for free right next to where we set up.

Maybe more people should park where they can head north after a game?

Nicholson was not fun. Granted, the suspect parts of Nicholson had plenty of attendees that were most definitely not there for the game that were only there to create more traffic.

That was as bad as I've seen it even for the big SEC games. I'm hoping it was just an anomaly because everyong was driving cars from nearby.

This was worse than I've seen for any game, any given Alabama game included. I use Nicholson and turn in at the north gate to get to my lot. Usually they have officers waiving people through the read lights and prohibiting side street traffic from trying to get on. The bigger the game, the further back from campus they do this. This game had ZERO officers do ANY KIND of traffic control so you had people stopping at red lights then side street traffic trying to turn on and creating gridlock. It was absolutely ridiculous

what is the ideal area to park for someone going to new orleans after a game? i've only been to a few games where i've had to drive out of town afterwords and it's terrible.

Get your off your arse and bike to the stadium from a loca parking lot or business. Expecting to park next to the stadium with 100k other people is just not realistic

On way to LSU, there was a cop at Stanford and W Lakeshore with a barracade not allowing anyone to turn right on w lakeshore without a parking pass. I have not seen that ever in 20 years of being a season ticket holder.
As a result, traffic was bumper to bumper standstill on Stanford from W.Lakeshore all the way to the interstate, including the side streets. It was ridiculous.

Park on the west side of campus, near the Ag lot. After the game, you can head out to Stanford, then cut over on Hyacinth or similar through southdowns, which will take you to Perkins. Pick up I-10 at Bluebonnet or Siegen and you are golden

This is how I head back to Prairieville after every game, and I count the number of times on one hand over the last decade it's been more than 20-30 minutes leaving once I get in the car

I'm fine with paying a few hundred over the course of the season so I don't have to get there at the crack of dawn to fight for a parking spot. YMMV.

That’s all good until you pull up and see your reserved lot has been taken over by “family reunions” and none of them have a pass for the lot

Our experience as well. There were no cops managing lights, directing traffic, etc. The only cops I saw were making escorts down the opposite lane of traffic, be it going into the game or leaving afterwards. Never seen such poor traffic management in all my years of games.

Saturday was the worst I've ever seen it for a game.

Sat in our parking lot without moving for 2 hours after the game. It makes no sense at all how it could be that bad.

If LSU wants less people to go to the games they sure are doing a good job of making sure of that.

I sure wish I would have known I could have turned right if I had shown my parking permit!!!! It was laying in my lap I just had not hung it from the rear view mirror yet. Would have been nice if they had a sign or something to let people know they could turn right with a parking permit. The cops sure were not making any effort to ask for a parking permit either!!!!! I wonder how many other folks were like me and had no idea. All this did was funnel a ton more cars into one place on highland causing even more gridlock!!!!!! I am sure LSU could have afforded to buy a LARGE SIGN saying right turn only with parking permit???!!!! It took at least 1.5 hours to get from I10 to lakeshore down Stanford because of this bottleneck!!!!

This is essentially what we did Saturday and it was 24 minutes to Constitution from S Stadium and Highland just going up Stanford to I10. There will be games where I head back to New Orleans after so this will definitely be my go to route. Parking anywhere off Nicholson has been a pain in the past to get out going south.

ive only done it twice but always parked at gourrier/free levee lot and getting home to nola took forever. i guess i'll just have to get there earlier and try and get a spot at the ag lot

eta: or i guess i could pay for parking. never done that though and i'll have to look into it.

Yeah, it was fairly wide open, but we got out there just before 7:30. It filled up fast, and people started blocking people in. FWIW, riverside couldn't fit into the lot so it seemed to pay off.

I realize musical tastes change overtime so I’m not gonna complain about the style of music that’s getting played. However what I think is an issue is there’s just not much quiet time during the game. And what I mean by that is every possible second that the football is not moving around there’s some sort of activity channeled in to fill up time. And I don’t think that’s good to always have every possible minute filled with something.

Not sure what people expect anyone to do. there aren't enough roads heading to and from the stadium to handle the amount of vehicles in the area.
