This game was quite the exception as you had literally everyone in Baton Rouge in the same spot, there was only so much that could be done.

If that was the case traffic should have been miserable all over like it is for an SEC game that goes to the end. It was only horrible in one or two spots. The stadium was half empty in the 4th and all of those people who came to tailgate earlier in the day were gone.

Looking at the parking map, I believe it was Lot 413. Its a free lot.

It was the Levee South Lot (bottom left corner). It's where I was at. There is an entrance/exit from that lot directly onto River Road. They let us enter this lot from that spot. I left at halftime and didn't move from the parking lot for 2 hours. They were forcing all the hundreds of cars in that lot out of a single spot onto Gourrier. Gourrier was bumper to bumper so nobody was ever getting out of our lot at all.

And I actually saw the cop you mentioned. He walked away from his car at the river road opening and returned about an hour later looking pissed off. I guess he found out about the barricade being moved. Then some old dude starting yelling at him and called him a waste of space. The cop said he was following orders. It was getting bad until he opened up that spot for us to finally leave.

It took me 3 hours after leaving the stadium to get home near Shenandoah.

It is time to bring someone from outside of the area in to evaluate it. LSU and local police have proven they have no clue on what they are doing.

Honestly for a night game I might just bring a blanket, lean seats back and nap for a few hours and let traffic clear out.

Probably wouldn’t make but about a half hour difference for when you got home

And just what is the general 'matrix' of the rent a gate/guard, happen to be ? Think these 'matrons' may have allowed a certain number of their pals to enter lots w/o passes or just showed up a little late to their stations ?? LOL

LSU Game Operations Twitter

“Lot 413 is now free and open to the public!”

It was very weird how they put out that a pay lot was all of the sudden free at 2:30 on Saturday. Pretty sure it had been a free lot in pat years.

I’d ask for a refund from LSU if you had a pass, but were turned away. They legitimately screwed you.

Talking arriving between 1 and 2 for the game with season parking passes. Has happened more than once too.

The feces show is usually south of campus. Maybe more people should park where they can head north after a game?

And if you need to go anywhere other than north...?

They’re not making you head north forever

I was able to turn right & hit 110 downtown.

So did we. And then when we got to College.. holt christ. Then had to turn left on Highland instead of going where we were going for the night effective IN SIGHT. Then once we went the effing back way and got back to Burbank, it took us literally about an hour to get a quarter mile. Unfricking real.

Welcome to the world post COVID.

Everything is half as good as it used to be and twice as expensive and nobody gives a shite about anything.

Opportunity for growth in patience and virtue is the only thing not in short supply.

On way to LSU, there was a cop at Stanford and W Lakeshore with a barracade not allowing anyone to turn right on w lakeshore without a parking pass. I have not seen that ever in 20 years of being a season ticket holder.
As a result, traffic was bumper to bumper standstill on Stanford from W.Lakeshore all the way to the interstate, including the side streets. It was ridiculous.

You are right. No one should never ever park north of campus. Especially avoid West Roosevelt near Alaska. In fact, its closed. And you would only end up in Arkansas. After getting raped and pillaged. Tell all your friends. Its a bad idea. Really.

I pulled into mine around 2 and it was pretty full, like I said, several pulled in without a tag from the opposite way as I was waiting to turn left into the parking lot. Told my son and nephew that there will be some pissed off people ( rightfully so ), when they get here and they don't have a spot to park in that they paid for.

I told the guard he was full of it and drove right by him. Had somebody with me that needed assistance (crutches) and actually found an open spot.

When LSU spent obscene amounts of $$ expanding the stadium, new construction should have also gone into the roads around campus.
This is critical to people staying the whole game.
It is just crazy. We have reserved parking but we are taking a bus from 'hotel Indigo to avoid having to drive in this mess.

I think I'm going to try one of the shuttles in the future as well. Anyone ever done the L'auberge shuttles?
