Your right business is business and LSU has been really good to him no doubt. If we get the right guy pretty quick it's hard to argue that it was done wrong if your looking out for what's best for LSU.

Agree with this also, no one man is bigger than the program, I think alot of fans are hung up on the man and not the program

as long as they already have or are pretty dam sure about the new coach, then don't have a problem. But if we are going on a coaching search then I have a big problem with it. And if you wind up bringing Miles back, I have a big problem with it because you already fricked Miles over and fricked over the recruiting class and any hope of moving forward in a positive way with Miles.

There is a poster that wants Miles to go to Tulane and take coach Frank and O with him to make Tulane competitive again to beat LSU.

I know that's laughable, but there IS a serious disconnect with some "fans" that Miles => LSU.

I think its a mixture of saltiness like drizz said and delusion and denial from other fans who are in love with the man not the program like you said

when it turns out that the admin didn't have anyone lined up to take over and we go on a coaching search, and all the big time fantasy land coaches that you guys think are going to be lining up to take the job turn LSU down, and LSU becomes the laughing stock of the country (already happening), and we wind up with our own version of Gene Chizik or Dinardo/hallman/archer II, you guys will be fine with it?

Hypothetical situation at the moment, including whether Jimbo is coming or not, but my glass is half full and Im optimistic and a fan of change for the better of the program, some people, like yourself are pessimistic and are holding onto Miles at this point, I dont blame either side and both sides have valid points but until we see something official, I wont assume the immediate worst if we fire Miles, I think more faith should be shown for the program and not the coach at the moment, I mean who are fans of? The university or the coach? Alot of us are for the university

I'm not a glass half full or empty, just playing the odds. I want whats best for the program and the odds don't look so good if we really are just on a clueless coaching search. Better hope whoever is pulling the strings on this already has their ducks lined up in a row.

What you just stated confirm what I said about you being pessimistic about the programs future....either you're optimistic or pessimistic, there isnt an in between

He says he's playing the odds, but what he is truly saying is if everything goes wrong we're fricked. No shite, huh?

I wouldn't say I feel bad for him

Yeah, I don't feel bad for him with how this situation is playing out.

I felt bad for him after the loss vs. Arkansas just because he seemed so down/dejected (and he shouldered the blame for that loss), but I generally feel bad for anyone I see giving off that kind of depressive vibe. But what is going on right now is the nature of the sport -- compare it to Miles' decision to take Rueben Randle over DeAngelo Benton in 2009 -- I felt bad for Benton the way that played out. I wanted to see DB in purple and gold, but unfortunately it didn't work out.

I see some of the national media saying LSU is treating Miles in a "shameful" way, or something to that effect. f that. Miles has benefited tremendously from the position that he has been in, and frankly, I think he often gets too much credit as it is, although, to his credit, he is generally very team-oriented and modest, and I respect that about him. There are a lot of qualities that I like about coach Miles, but there are also a number of things about his approach to football that I find to be baffling/non-optimal.

They costs us games and broke the teams spirit. You are okay with that?

Screw the fans, they are a bunch of assholes.

What would you have done or be doing differently?
If the deal has been inked, if it is set in stone 100%, I'd have done nothing differently. I have a very hard time believing any new coach has already signed a deal, or there is anything approaching that degree of finality

If the deal is still up in the air, Alleva & Co have exposed a huge financial asset (LSU is rated the 4th or 5th most valuable program in the country) to substantial and completely unnecessary risk. Rejection will turn LSU's situation into an all-consuming dumpster fire.

Given that risk, IMO Alleva has mishandled this . . . badly. Very badly. Badly enough to warrant dismissal, regardless of result. But that is not the way it works. If jimbo comes, though he may or may not be an upgrade, he's the supposed guy. If Alleva lands him, it will be considered a good job, regardless of the shitshow leading to the result.

It's booster placation. Boosters have always loved Jimbo. Les, not so much.

Didn't Hallman coach his last two games after being fired?
