No that's not what he's saying. if the LSU administration is as good as other schools,
there is a high probability of being fricked.

Given the way Alleva has handled this he should be let go as well.

something got out, put an end to it publicly so it doesn't turn into some speculation circus, like it has; leaving Miles to fend for himself.

I hate how Alleva says nothing and just let Miles deal with it on his own. Alleva should've done something publicly, even if he and Miles don't see eye to eye. Give Miles that much respect at least

So if we are indeed looking for a new coach, you're saying you'd rather Alleva come out and say Les' job isn't in jeopardy?

Then 2 weeks later announce we have a new coach?

Talk about a slap in the face. I swear some of you people don't take a second to think. Why would Alleva "put an end to this" if he is indeed looking for a new coach? It's not some top secret info that Miles was on the hot seat. Nothing had to be "leaked" for these rumors to run.

The only scenario where Alleva fricks this up, is if he does NOT have another coach lined up. In that instance, many people will be screaming for his job. Let's wait and see before we crucify people though.

Alleva has boxed himself in and thus he's boxed the program in. After the Ole Miss game, he should have said that Les has his full confidence, even if that wasn't true. It would have kept the media at bay and prevented speculation.

But because he didn't, he's basically in a position where he has to fire Les. Because if he doesn't, than other coaches will tell recruits that they don't know who will coach LSU in 2017 and the LSU guy coming in your living room may not be there in a year. All this despite the fact that if we don't get Jimbo or Chip Kelly, the best we can do is a lateral move. Mullen and Fedora are fine coaches, but you're going to spend over 10 million to buy out Miles' contract for one of them?

Also, Les deserves more respect them he's gotten from Alleva. He leaves as the greatest coach in LSU football history. I don't care if he snookered Alleva by negotiating with Arkansas into a better LSU contract - he earned every penny of it. And he ran a program free of scandal or embarrassment. Yes, Jimbo is probably an upgrade over Les, but that doesn't mean you treat Les like crap.

This. There are not that many people involved in the process. Is it impossible to keep everyone from talking? Yes. However, it seems like everyone involved has been running off to leak info ASAP.

you'd rather him lie than to be silent? Then he'd REALLY get crucified when Miles was let go.

You people.

Joe Alleva is worthless and it's amazing how quick this fanbase is to liking him and how much faith they have in a man that just merely weeks ago was almost universally agreed he was the weak link in the athletics department.

Go back and read old threads. The main reason everyone bitched about Alleva was bc we thought we were stuck with Miles. Everyone tenth post on this board was someone saying Alleva doesn't have the balls to fire Les. Now that he's doing it, people are bitching about "how" he is doing it.

From a financial standpoint, if you are Alleva and you want Les gone as an end result, the best thing you can do is make Les want to leave for another job. It is the only way to save some of the 15 million reasons you have not to fire him. If somewhere along long the way in the last 2 weeks Les has told his agent, "see if they want me at USC, Maryland, Illinois, or wherever" then Alleva is doing OK. Of course this is assuming that he has the coach he wants lined up ready to take over.

I sometimes think these boards can hurt more than they help!

I experimented last night and for anyone smart enough to see the sarcasm would have know it was a bogus thread. But, just like I thought, it took off. It wasn't a bad thread, it was just meant to prove a point. The point is...How can we believe any of this from someone posting on a board!

Am I really suppose to believe that Jimbo Fisher on the week that he is playing his arch-rival Florida for a possible play-off spot, is talking to LSU everyday?

First of all, his buyout is $11 million. That is paid over 8 years. Joe Alleva knows that he can pay just over a million per year for 8 years without putting a dent in the budget. Miles also has an obligation to seek other employment to get the buyout. Any job he gets would reduce the $11 million. In other words, LSU could end up owing Les little to nothing for his buyout. Les cannot simply retire and collect $15 million like many here believe

This...say we'll evaluate after the season and this thing builds it's own momentum. They made Les a sympathetic martyr, with children crying on his radio show.

You tell me. I was still in diapers

Looks like you're right. I guess it could have been done. That may have been the way to go.
