There is one thing of importance going on Saturday night and that is the football game. Go to the game. The inlaws will get along fine without you and you will get along fine without them. People who schedule other activities of any kind around LSU games need to be set straight. The game takes precedence over all else. This especially includes weddings. Even funerals can be scheduled around game days with a little prior planning. Remember, you are the king of your castle.

I saw a thread earlier where a guy said his wife was bringing him to LSU to tailgate and could anyone help hm find a tailgate to join. Not a single pic was asked for and people gave actual advice.

If you dont watch the game you are a nutless pussy.

ETA: The fact that your wife made plans at the same time of the game shows that she knows she can walk all over you. You're pathetic

dude. don't be a pussy. this never should have gotten this far. tell her to go out with her father; you are gonna watch the damn game. she should already know this. if you DON'T DO THIS, it will just happen over and over again in the ensueing years.

sometimes a man has got to put his foot down. you can dine with her anytime. you never really have to dine with her father. unless, of course, you are accepting money from him. if so. you are fricked and never should have taken it.

Go to restaurant with TVs...if your relationship is solid, this compromise shouldn't be a problem.

After 23 years of marriage my wife knows to check with me before planning anything on Saturdays in the fall. All I say is the Tigers are playing and she shuts down any plans that may be brewing.

Weddings are the only thing out of your control, but the watch espn app for your phone is in your control.
Been married for thirty seven years - wife won't even ask about some stuff during the fall because of LSU and hunting. She automatically tells family and friends that I will not be there. For a couple of years after the wedding I heard the "you are inconsiderate" crap but countering with the "they are inconsiderate for interrupting my time" she finally gave up. It's self preservation so do it - if she leaves you it won't be over this issue I guarantee it.
Man up.

We are cooking Sat. night for my dad's birthday. We are cooking, no way in hell would we go eat somewhere on Saturday nights during the season. Then again my whole family is LSU, including the wife and the in-laws.

I gave my buddy grief for having a birthday party sat. afternoon at 1pm. I was joking but somewhat serious!

As soon as he walks in punch him directly in the face to establish dominance. Then sit him Down and respectfully tell him that we are all watching the game together and he better enjoy it. Don't forget to be respectful or you will just come off as being a dick.
