Maybe it's because he doesn't throw interceptions during crucial moments in games like those guys did.

Funny part about this is that Etling is EXTREMELY lucky that he doesn't have 5-6 ints by now. I just watched the highlights of the game and twice DBs should have had the int. A third time Chark had to go back a simultaneously catch it because Etling looked like he was throwing it to the DB on that play as well. Reminds me of the game vs Chattanooga when he underthrew and Chark had to go back and catch it in between defenders because it would have likely been intercepted.

He's so limited and it is infuriating to see him play when any other good coach would have put Brennan and/or Narcisse in a long time ago. I can't count how many true freshman are actually starting right now.

Kellen Mond is getting better each week at TAMU even scoring 2 TDs, complteing 65% of his passes, and passing for almost 240 vs Bama. LSU is going to lose a bunch of games this year anyway, so why not kill two birds with one stone? We can have the offense look more exciting with Brennan, and he'd get more reps to prepare for next year.

Brennan would probably throw a ton of interceptions and get hurt behind this line and with these wide receivers. He would lose his confidence. Let him sit the rest of the year and put him in with the blow-outs coming up(Al, Au, Texas A&M) against their second string players. Give Etling some time and he can make a throw. He needs the run game to get going.

Harris and Jefferson had bad attitudes.

Honestly I think both QBs should play. Etling is the safe choice, but O should not be thinking about being safe. Brennan will make a few mistakes but has way more ability. Better arm, quicker release, and a bit more accurate...

People can fight me, but I think LSU should give this to the young guns after the eventual loss to Auburn. Put Brennan in the shotgun with a 4 wide set. Open it up with a lot of quick passes to get players in space and utilze their speed and Brennan's skillset. frick redshirting Narcisse. Put him in as the wildcat QB and redzone QB. Having a legit running option along with the jet sweep, RPO's, etc, would be a lethal combo.

OP, you're in the bottom ten of posters. Post some porn, take some time off and rethink your posting strategy.

Etling had plenty of time yesterday and couldn’t get it done. Our WRs had 1 freaking catch. Put Brennan in and let him go and use Narcisse in the red zone

It’s sad that our starter early last year and the year before can”t beat out a freshman at UNC meanwhile our starter couldn’t start at Purdue...just shows how bad qb play has been at LSU over the years outside of Mett...at least Brennan brings hope and I wish he would get more snaps bc I want him prepared for next year

Etling is doing exactly what the coaches are asking of him. When he intentionally threw the ball to the ground on the 3rd and long late in the game. Our receivers are not getting separation and rather than risk an interception deep on our end of the field he grounded the ball. That is what he is supposed to do. If you force Brennan into a game like this you risk him making the mistakes Jared Lee made as a freshman, and we can't afford to have that happen to him.

Crazy how Etling gets a pass by a lot on this board and Jennings, Harris, Jefferson didn't.

Have a downvote dumbass.

Conveniently left out JLee.

It's quite clear that Etling isn't getting a pass. He s marginally better than Jefferson and Harris because he can manage the game. He gets plays in and we don't have the meerkat offense leading to delay of game penalties.

At first, he could complete short passes in addition to the occasional long bomb. Recently, he seems to have regressed and is not able to complete the shot passes or to read an open receiver. No doubt the line blocking situation has caused this, but it seems to me that he is not taking advantage of what is there.

I know WHO you are and ALL you do over the years is to think that ANY QB of color NEVER got A chance here...

You are WRONG as usual..............

IMO SCOTT should be LSU'S QB.... He is dynamic and would fit what Canada wants as A QB..............

Brennan is better than Etling but he's more prone to make mistakes. If the game is close and Etling is not throwing picks, I think we need to stick with him.

O still needs to work Brennan in when possible. If not, we'll have a woefully inexperienced backfield next year. I can hear the excuses already.

The fact that Brennan is even getting playing time as a true freshman who didn’t enroll early speaks volumes in comparison of the two. That’s just my opinion.

Brennan is probably more mobile too. He may make more plays but also could be prone to turnovers with lack of experience.. but I rather roll with more drives even if it has some turnovers. The more experience the better. Look how atrocious Mond was week one for a&m.. and he’s improved so much since then and he’s starting over a very similar situation before they had an injury. He’s a dual threat so my point is more of the progression from experiencing. He couldn’t complete passes, now he is.

I like getting both our guys reps. And maybe Brennan can emerge as the season goes.

LSU would NOT have won that game yesterday with Myles starting and playing the whole game.........

JUST IMO.......

Saying Myles is ANY kind of running QB is just stupid.... The gut is like A wet noodle out there...........

it’s obvious Brennan is far and away the best QB on the roster. Brennan gives us our best chance to win each week

How in the hell can the coaching staff have missed this? What are they thinking??

I agree that MB needs all snaps he can get.
Face it we aren't going to Atlanta or the playoffs so next year needs to at least be on the radar for the rest of this year.

With that said DE is the starter, as he should be bc he's our best option.

You etling haters need to get the frick over it.

eing scared to execute the play the coaches called and QB ignoring the play calls and deciding that it would be better for him to just tuck it and run 3 yards every time the coaches wanted him to run a passing play isnt good decision making.

if the coaches wanted him to run for 3 yards on every 2nd or 3rd and long they would just call streaks instead of actual routes for the WRs to give him more room to run
