This very same thread was started last night. As soon as I replied it was whacked.

Probably should leave it to prevent more.

This isn't a slight on the flag, it has to do with the proper display of the American flag. The blue field of stars should always be in the highest position of honor.

When viewing the flag on a wall, the highest position of honor is the upper left when displayed horizontally, and at the top (upper left) when displayed vertically.

When displayed on a "moving object" like a person or vehicle, the highest position of honor is the front, and not the rear; so the field of blue should be displayed to the front. So, if the flag is worn on the right shoulder or right side of a vehicle, it appears backwards; if worn on the left shoulder, it appears normal.

In the Army, we wear the American flag on our right shoulder, so it appears backwards. I guess with the military connection (Corps of Cadets) at Texas A&M, they've decided to do the same.

The flag is forward facing because you should ALWAYS be going forward into battle, never retreating.

My fire dept uniform has the flag on the right arm and the stars are front.

The fire department patch is on the left arm.

A little research goes a long way; otherwise, you come across as ignorant.

As another poster already explained, it is copied from the flag worn on the Army combat uniform--the symbology being the Army is moving forward rather than retreating.

The flag they wear is the same we wear in the military. It is made like that to look like you are advancing and not retreating.

Well it isn't like they're the Green Berets changing into battle...or even on the federal payroll for that matter.
