re: Does it trouble you that Miles does not see a need to change scheme?

How is it the scheme worked 3 of 5 games but we lost all 5?

Who's getting paid 5 million? Underachievers like sumlin.
Not les.

I don't think there is anything wrong with our scheme.
I think we should loosen up the play calling, and in particular, use the middle of the field in the passing game. But the scheme itself is fine.

Please search the AD's stated goals for the program.
Then ask yourself is Les and the program are meeting them.
Once you arrive at the answer: Yes
You will then quickly realize that the real dullards are the fans not the AD and certainly not Les.
Oh im sorry, did i imply something?

That is exactly right/ just some tweaks. The problem is that we looked ill prepared to adjust and that's very concerning

Just state what alleva set as the goals for the program...are you saying winning the sec isn't a goal?

In what 3 of the last 5 games was it successful?
In 2011? LSU had 9 points in 9 quarters against Bama that season.
In 2012? 17 points mostly on the back of Metteberger when they shut the run game down.
In 2013? It worked for a half to the tune of 17 points against a defense A&M put near 50 points on.
In 2014? With the whopping 13 points at home and sub 4 ypc?
In 2015? With 16 points and less than 200 yards?
Les is straight delusional with this attitude, but guess what? Some of you are fine with it, so why should he care?

It bothers me that Malzahn has shown the read option is bama's kryptonite and the one time we run it, pick up 11 yards and never run it again. It also bothers me that after a half of football, the running game was clearly not going anywhere, we did nothing to attempt to open it up, i.e. option, pass, run out of the gun, flea flicker, ect

Im saying that Alleva's stated goals for the program does not include National Championships.
Until that is the measuring stick, LSU fans can continue expect the same

You are saying that LSU isn't winning championships because Alleva isn't setting that as a goal?

Urban Meyer was beat at home by two scores by VA tech last year... If you were a fan on his would it trouble you that he kept his scheme? My point is that if be more worried if we were 5-21 against teams with a winning conference record in the sec the last few years, as mark richt is. I think we're fine.

Scheme change isn't a fix. You aren't just gonna scheme around bama.
There are a lot of spread teams that have lost to bama.
But those teams don't have the talent LSU does. Show me a team with as much talent as LSU that plays Bama yearly, and I will show you how they have a better record against Bama than us in the past 5 years. It's pathetic how many talented teams Les Miles pisses away because it's his way or the highway.

We should add some wrinkles. Stanford is a power running team with plenty of wrinkles thrown in. Get better OL and do it. Our skill players are much better.

my point isnt invalid because i dont have a point. also, i said in my post alot of times it probably doesnt matter and we'd lose anyway.
i'd like to see the distribution of pass/run over course of game. it would be interesting to see in a parallel universe how much closer the game would be if we came out of the opening kickoff balanced, rather than force run to begin till we get behind then pass more.

At some point you have to put yourself in Miles' shoes: five years in a row to the arch-rival leaves a deep hurt. I think they are fully in his thick head now.

There is no perfect scheme.
A scheme with some imagination is always more difficult for the opposing team to prepare for than one that is completely predictable (and that includes run and pass plays).

Not at all
Im saying no LSU fan can expect anything diffrent or for Alleva or Miles to be held accountable. After all Miles meets Allevas goal for the program.
As fans we expect to beat bama and win national championships.
