Exactly. This past weekend Gameday was in Tuscaloosa for Bama v. PSU. This is somewhat of a big rivalry historically. You have the Joe Pa, the winningest coach of all time, at the game. Bobby Bowden, the second winningest coach of all time, is from Alabama. There's a story. You have Nick Saban becoming a legend in his own right.
Another story. Then you have ND v. Michigan, big rivalry, another story. Then we have big matchups this week, such as #13 Miami v. #2 OSU and Florida State v. Oklahoma. Big stories, especially this is the first time Miami and OSU have played since the controversial BCSNC game. Also the first time FSU and OU have played since their BCSNC game. Oh, and I forgot to mention, Bob Stoops' younger brother is FSU's DC. All these stories! What was LSU doing this weekend? Playing Vanderbilt. Who cares outside of the LSU fan base?

Matter of fact, I just saw that commercial on ESPN that mentions something about LSU. It shows that QB that played for Florida and it's pimping ESPN 3D. Came home for lunch today and LSU was playing on ESPNU.

Sorry Cubgrace, this was not meant to be addressed to you.

All I'm saying is when they show highlights of the season LSU is nowheres to be found and if they are it's of another teams highlight against us we have had some nice plays that should make it by no means am I saying we should be talked about all the time I know we haven't played the best football but we are a top 25 team and deserve to be discussed alittle is all I'm saying! I just can't wait for mid season and we have continued to win and they are forced to talk about us even if it kills them lol!!!!

Just remember this one thing:

No matter what you think, they could care less who is on the highlight reel. Most of the producers on these shows are from the east coast and have no passion for NCAA football.

When we're top 10 they will have no choice. If we beat Florida and Florida still has an inflated rank we could be in the top 7 or so.

LSU is just below Bama & FL's level right now. They need to beat at least one of them along with WVU & Ole Miss. The Hat must deliver against ranked teams again for LSU to start getting the recognition they used to get. I think if LSU puts up a great performance against WVU, we'll start to see them talked about more.

And yes, I think they could show more LSU highlights, but frick it. Win big games and we'll see it.

If LSU beats MSU and West Virginia then I think we'll crack the top ten. Mostly because there will be a couple of upsets ahead of us.

I think hate is a strong word. Gameday was at our season opener and ESPNU picked up the Vandy game. Not to mention we have numerous others being nationally televised this season upcoming. I understand what you're saying but I'd say damn the highlights. We're getting plenty of national exposure.

Real Tigers don't need no sweet media luvin'.....
Seriously, buck up. I'd much rather be the almost always ignored bad boys of football (and win the big ones) than be propped up, PR hogging ESPN darlings that seem to just not quite make the cut when they get on center stage. Nobody wins 'em all, but
to ESPN. Be a Tiger, not a housecat.

Salty definitely hit the nail on the head. Hate is a strong word and I sure don't expect to see LSU televised 24/7. LSU has been given some pretty good props so far this season. You kids have no idea what you're talking about as far as exposure goes. Try living in the state of Alabama and be an Auburn fan. Man, if you want to see a school that has a reason to complain about exposure, then it would be Auburn. Practically EVERY sports program that I have seen in this state always starts out with something about the Crimson Tide. Auburn gets their fair share of exposure but it's always after something about Bama is mentioned. I might be wrong, but I get the impression that Bama could go 0-12 and AU could go 12-0 and Bama would still be mentioned before Auburn. For the life of me, I can't seem to remember a time when ESPN ever mentioned that they disliked LSU.

I think you might be a little too sensitive. Its just an intro video. The LSU part is about an 1/8th of a second. There are a butt load of teams that don't even get their colors or logos on. I'm more concerned when E.S.P.N. doesn't consider the Tigers relevant enough for a GameDay stop.

YES!!!! Does anybody remember Trev Albert! He hates and always discredits LSU. Also, Mike Gottfried doesn't like LSU either.

It's real simple.....we live in a "what have you done for me lately" world. This includes sports and the media.

With that said, even though it was ESPNU, at least our games are being televised. If we continue to win, we will eventually get back into the media world. Our past 2 years have hurt us in this respect.

I agree we've had plays that should have made ESPN coverage but given the recent win/loss ratio by Bama combined with us not looking quite as good as we would like, we just have to suck it up for now.

They have always hated LSU. Listen to Mustberger and Herbstreet. They never say anything good about LSU. They talked about NC the whole game. Herb is pissed since saying Miles was going to Michigan

Once upon a time, LSU would show up for the big games. We got plenty of love, remember JaMarcus arm? Big Herm's birthweight? Jacob Hester listening to Elvis? Matt Mauck's gonna be a dentist? We heard that ad nauseum on espn/cbs/fox when we were beating the big boys on the field.

Also, no one in the media has confidence that Les will turn it around. So to them, there is no point in discussing the tigers.

If we get to 6-0, we will enter the conversation

Big 10 hype: ESPN has many alums. Been waiting for turnaround.

LSU broadcast: yes, but are they looking for upsets? Or Miles talking points?

UNC suspensions coverage: If you count kicking your starting FB off the team, and losing Blackwell on the first snap, we had 5 starters out. Peterson, Baker, Tolliver. Not one mention by Herbie and Mushmouth. Even on PP7's returns, Mushmouth immediately brought up the suspended players.

I see what you are talking about. Don't really care about media hype but the highlight reel is getting ro be a joke. Some highlights on there are not from televised games and don't look that special, they have plenty by FCS schools, and the first reel where they showed 99.999% offensive plays, the only defensive play was Shep getting knock tha fug out.

Then on another one where the last highlight is the longest one it shows him getting knocked out again and rolling on the ground. I start laughing because it is getting pretty comical that they keep putting it in. Better see that Reid hit or the many big hits Widowmaker Baker laid on saturday.

And for people who say we don't have any highlights to show what about the 2 or 3 big arse sacks which caused fumbles, one of PP7 30+yard returns or hell his 87 yard TD return. What about a 51yard Shep TD run, 51yard Randle TD catch, 30yard Shep TD run, or a 65yard Ridley TD run.

And for the guy that said the PP7 returns were not special, did both of Miami's returns need to be shown. I mean they were showing 2yard TD catches an 5yard TD runs for crying out loud. I see what the OP is saying but hey, it is what it is right?
