I like Arkansas as the last game of the year and it has become close to a rivalry.
A&M was always an early game (in the 80s and 90s) and often the season opener. It would be great to play them as the SEC opener each year.

A&M by a mile. I am old enough to remember how heated the games between LSU and AtM were. That was a real rivalry. Arkansas has always felt forced and has seldom reached the level of our border battles with AtM.

I think we share a better relationship with Texas than we do Arkansas. Plus I imagine a lot of students/fans have family in Texas. I know I do. It'll make for a better game.
And the past couple of weeks I was for Arkansas, but then I thought about Thanksgiving and how I visit family in Texas so I changed my mind.

Arkansas has been good the last couple of years.
Texas A&M has been below average the last 10 years.
Texas A&M's main rival will always be Texas. It's just a matter of time before they are forced to start playing them again.

You just can't end a 100 year rivalry with a snap of the fingers. I think both schools talk about each other in their fight songs. Which would sound pretty stupid now for Texas A&M to continue to do that.
A&M's main rival will always be Texas. LSU will at best be second fiddle just like we are to Alabama vs Auburn.
I just wish Ole Miss would be good again but it ain't happening.

Id rather stick with Arkansas because I don't care about ever going to that game and want to go to the LSU-A&M games, can't go on Thanksgiving weekend.

It'll be aTm, never sensed a rivalry with Arky.. aTm on the other hand has always felt like a rival even tho we didn't play. Maybe it's because aTm and LSU fans live amongst each other more so than Arky and LSU..
Growing up, Lafayette always had aggie license plates and flags.. Their fans seemed to be full of themselves too. Always seemed like a competition/tension between the two to be successful. Too proud programs that share the same turf so to speak.
When we were down they were up and when we were up they were down, so it lead to some bitter feelings.

Over time, LSU - A&M as the last regular season game will become a big game with national implications. It will take a few years for the Aggies to become SEC ready but when they do, this game will be fun to watch.
