I'd be a little worried about anyone against their pass rush, especially a guy who tends to "reel" (back up and throw) when pressured.

So far, his arm/brain has allowed him to make throws while "reeling".

I don't think our coaches will put him in a position, at least early on, to have to withstand that rush. It'll be quick throws. Slants. Stuff where his sick quick release pays dividends.

I think that by the time Lee has to take that 5 or 7 step drop, step up, step into a throw and wing it, he will have been playing progressively better as the game goes along, and will have settled in, and have no problem doing that.

With the way our offense has been playing, I just don't see a need to put him in that position early on.

fact: If Lee throws off his back foot against that defense...we're fricked.

Much more than JJ for sure...

Well if our offensive line holds up well. I am guessing Lee would be rushed alot more than he has been durin th eehole season and would have to play smarter conservative football

Lee also better be ready for some late hits, spearing, etc.

Good thing is, we have a VERY capable backup that can come in. Maybe two.

We'll be emphasising getting rid of the ball quickly. I trust we'll do well.

No.....we don't. We have a backup that can run well, can't pass consistently, and is a mediocre decision maker...at best. If we have to rely solely on the backup, Saban will decimate that offense. It's gonna take everybody.

Yes. "Rattle him"?? Lee's been through it all and steps on field Saturday a fierce and brave competitor. Will he be flawless? Maybe not, but he won't get rattled.

You can ask the same exact question about AJ McCarron

If we use play action, give him the opportunity to throw on 1st and 2nd, and stay out of 3rd and long he'll be fine. In other words stay out of obvious passing situations, so Saban can not dial up an aggressive blitz.

The same can be said every week. This week will obviously harder to execute that.

Let's do this, because I feel better about the answer to this question.....

quote:

Do you have complete trust in McCarron to hang in the pocket strong and delivergood throws under pressure?

quote:

I believe Miles will pressure McCarron all night long to rattle him. This is the only thing I'm truely worried about in this game. So far this season he has played well, but he hasn't seen the type of pressure yet that he'll see on Saturday.

at least Lee has WR's to throw to.......this defense, if they stick to assignment, is WAY too fast for the bubble screen to work all night like they've been doing all year.

I see the JJ family/friends are up early trying to denigrate Lee.

Funny how these obvious bash threads are never dealt with......

fact: Most NFL qb's throw off their back foot at some point in a game when getting pressured and are effective at it. Just to name a few names off the top of my head that do this: Brees, Manning(both), Big Ben, Rodgers, Brady, etc.

Obv its and advtg to us and for them too I suppose to throw the ball when you want to, instead of when you have to.

I just dont want to see us run the ball against 7-8 on first and second down for a whole half before we change.
Thats what we did vs tenn in the first half.
