Despite there being so much evidence to the contrary, people still don't believe that this site is used a negative against LSU. Unbelievable.

Thanks. But we will need many more up votes to quell the lynch mob.

Would you make one of the most critical life decisions based on the opinions of this board?

But the overall affect of the miserable hateful negaterds is to create an atmosphere of defeat and unhappiness for unsuspecting recruits and their families...most families of the recruits don't have money to spend on pay sites, so they may come here to feel out the LSU situation...and there's plenty of trash on here to turn off inexperienced lookers-on...folks that aren't experienced and knowledgeable about this pit of vipers would leave with a horrible opinion of the place and by association of LSU...and what a shame that is...I blame the management and the posters alike!

I agree. I think a number of the posters are trolls that are really fans of other teams. Sometimes too much freedom is a bad thing. Even in America there are laws, rules, and regulations. If this is a true LSU fan site, then it should be treated as such. I hate when the trolls and alters make it seem as though what they espouse are the feeling of "LSU fans" as a whole - which in most instances is not the case. You can bet that our opponents steer recruits to this site to see how juvenile, petty, and moronic a number of purported "fans" are. I have a hard time believing anything other than a plant could post some things so stupid. As much as I try to enjoy this site, if it is hurting LSU I would just as soon see it shut down. Downvote all you want, but this is the truth.

You had me up until the presidential election analogy—why in the frick does every single thread on here include at least one comment about politics?

To anyone who thinks that players and recruits live in some bubble where they neither want nor care about the online chatter about them, see Dylan Moses.

I'll tell you this: no rival coach, player, or fan could produce as much negative recruiting fodder in a year as the Rant puts out there in a single day. It's absurd to be a "fan" and spend so many of your waking hours trashing the school that you support and want to succeed. By all means, Ranters, say whatever you want, though.

I agree with most everything you said. Recruits, their parents, and/or family members DO read this site, hell some even have active accounts. TD isn't just some message board because it's probably in the top 5 in all of college football as far as online traffic. Have you ever been to ANY other free fan site? They are so hard to navigate and their interface is comeplete crap. Every human poll is a small sample of individuals that is supposed to represent the rest and how they feel about a certain subject. So when a recruit or parent gets on here and finds thread after thread and page after page of how bad the hire was and how we are about to be set back 25 years, don't you think it could make them think twice? That it could make them think this must be how the majority of fans feel?

Bash may be a strong word, but once it was evident it was time for a change near end of 2015, I was on board with it. But, we just got a new coach and we need to let it play out a little before any "bashing."

This is the Rant and is for people to rant. That being said, there is not so much negativity against Coach O as there is against the process that hired him and the seeming weakness of LSU administration. Sure there are those "exceptions" but the majority of criticism has been aimed at Alleva. Rightly so in my opinion.

There was a lot of opinion sharing before the O hire and there will be a lot of opinion sharing for the duration of his tenure at LSU. I'm pretty sure Coach O has big enough shoulders and thick enough skin to not really worry about what is being said on an internet message board.

Your comparison to the elections is apples to grapes. We had a voice in the elections and could vote. We had zero voice and no vote in the hiring process of Coach O. I'm not advocating that we should have but those are two completely different processes.

You are probably one of those individuals who thinks the LSU fan base is unique in its criticism of its own team, players, recruits, etc. The truth is every fan base does it. Sorry to break it to you but the LSU fan base is not any more special than any other school. Except we cheer for the good guys.

Other SEC schools feed off this gravy train of negativity...I know that I would if I were a competing school...it's a treasure trove of goodies to point out to especially OOS recruits...I bet Shorty uses it to the max...
