Do you consider the impact of your posts on tRant on recruiting and morale?

The time to voice your opinion was before the decision was made. Now we have a coach and while we are all free to express our opinions of the decision, we should consider the impact the constant bashing of our coach has on the team and recruiting. It can't help.

O is here for the next few years at a minimum, and with success, much much longer. Maybe you could at least give him a chance to get his coaches, players and program in place and have an on field failure before you start with the criticism.

If it helps, consider the many parallels to the recent presidential elections and how you feel about the behavior of some.

If recruits, coaches, or administrator care about these boards they are just as messed up as us.

Recruits and Players do. Coaches and admins shouldn't.

We are criticizing Alleva for the way he hired O. We are NOT mad at coach O for accepting the job. Grow up.

He is saying the negativity could affect recruiting. I would hope our recruits are smart enough to not be swayed by message board chatter.

This is true with some of the posts, but many cut into O's personal character, history and traits. Also, by terming it a bad decision vs. a "risky" decision you imply that O's failure is a given.

No. That would be insanely narcissistic.

It's better to believe your words mean nothing? Then why say anything at all. It is naive to believe comments, when taken in totality, have no impact on people - especially 16-21 year-olds.

That's not true. O may very well succeed (and of course I hope that he does) but that doesn't make it a good decision or that the process for making that decision was sound.

Does chicken love lsu enough to shut this site down if he thought it had a negative impact on lsu?

I do know tigertown had an effect on the 2002 Alabama lsu game so if chicken shut this down then someone else who didn't love lsu as much as chicken would just start another one
