Do we have a final 4 quality basketball team next year?

with our elite recruting class, I say we do. Tbh I questioned Johnny Jones last season, but he can recruit his arse off, That is what matters in ncaa bball. I love his recent hire also, barring an upset in the tourney next year I love us to go to atleast the elite 8.

no proven big men. Maybe Epps and Robinson develop to go along with Victor. If they do then maybe could be a final 4 team.

The team has depth at the most important position and that is GUARDS. Great guard play can win you a championship in college basketball. Having quality big men are fine, but Duke don't win the natty WITHOUT GREAT guard play.

You need depth which we still don't have without a few of the bench guys this year stepping up big time. You lose your best two players and replace them with high school kids with zero experience. It's foolish to think we improve THAT much.

That's fine, but the reason Duke was so good last year comes down to one word: Defense
If LSU wants to be a great team next year they will have to get it done on defense. The team was MUCH improved in that area last seaon. My one concern is whether Simmons and Victor can get stops inside.
Mickey and Martin weren't great on ball defenders, but teams still had to worry about Mickey protecting the rim. That worry is gone now

if robinson develops, i think we have a good shot. unfortunately, i don't see that happening.
at 1-3 we will have elite talent and depth.

Of course. 5 imo should be Patterson, Hornsby, Blakeney, Simmons, and Victor. Each game they'd all line up well against the opponent and all could score on their man as well as facilitate and be unselfish. Should be exciting to see.

Had Martin and Mickey returned we would win it all. Probably can make sweet 16 as is but need one more 6'8" or talker to round out the recruiting class.
