Did our claim of "DBU" take a hit last night?

It seems that most of the defensive positions played well last night including the DL and linebackers, but the last couple of drives our DB's were just clueless allowing catch after catch and no interceptions on the night with all of those passes.

Post grad QB with a NFL WR to throw to. DBs were not the problem. Gassed front 7 got no pressure in the 4th QTR.

No they played great, especially the true freshman starting opposite Tre White.

We played a fifth year senior QB who is quite good and a WR in de'runnya wilson who is a huge body out there.

No. Our first round draft pick (Mills) did not play. Next question.

Keeping White on their biggest receiver without any help was the problem. Switch up or send extra help.

DBs were fine. Dak wasn't going down without a fight. We should have been up 4 TDs by halftime. Les was the problem last night. DBs played well.

Mullen made really good adjustments with the short passing game and Dak executed it very well.

That is an all-SEC QB we were up against, fella. He is the best that we will see all season.

DL started losing pressure late in the game so that made a huge difference. But i tend to agree.. The WR for state were not open but wide open and thats on our DB's. I think our DB got a real test with Dak and played decent but not great and not as DBU.
Our biggest problem is not having good DL rotating in for lack of depth. Those front guys were tired as hell but did a great job on contain. Just couldnt get the pressure late when tired.

We played 8 DLinemen by the second quarter. We were rotating.

No.

Yes, Dak threw for 335 yards... on FIFTY-TWO attempts. That's an average of 6.4 yards/attempt, which is fairly pedestrian. And that's a Heisman contender playing at home. This is the best QB LSU will play until at least the A&M game, if all year.

Alot of those short passes targeted our LBs

DBs were laying the wood all game until they got gassed towards the end.

ms like MSU was picking on soft underneath zones, as much LBs as DBs.

Tolliver played like an experienced all-sec corner.

yea but how many times did you see #91 and #57 come off the field......not much. Past them our talent drops. The starters were rotated but not much. Which I'm fine with but they get tired and pressure is lost. Not much you can do if we dont have talent in depth. Not complaining, just an observation.

KT2 was phenomenal and tre white got beat all game and made a great play when it mattered. Dwayne Thomas had 10 tackles. Ricky Jefferson looks great and Adams punishes people. Besides that they were horrible.
