I've met both numerous times.
Saban was an intense a-hole unless his wife was around, then he was a completely different person. Nice as could be.
Miles is a really nice guy but he really is a goofball.

Met him back when he was @ Miami with the fins. I was younger though and didn't really care about him besides he was the old LSU coach.

Heard another story that when he arrived at LSU from Michigan State he sent back an LSU plane to pick up his MSU assistants to bring them to LSU. A number of them wanted no part of it because he was absolutely miserable to be around.

Have not met him, but almost to a man, the people that know him or have had contact with him say that he is a complete a-hole.
He might be short, too.

I met him and his wife. I was in a day camp one summer as a kid and we went and swam at his house. He was polite, but kinda cold (like he really didn't care about the kids and had more important things on his mind) and he quickly left to get back to work. His wife was really nice, though.

1998 or 1999 Big Ten media day and the coaches are assembled for the coach picture that features every head coach in the league. The entire luncheon is supposed to start at 11:30. Every coach is there on time except Saban. 15 minutes later he finally arrives. Joe Paterno leans over and says with no joking intended, "Do you try to be an a--hole?"
So someone who covered for a child molester didn't like him? Sounds like a good thing for Saban.

At the time was he covering for a child molester? I didn't watch much of that whole shite storm.

Totally agree with your statement

I think Miles is a good guy but he doesn't seem to care about his job or excellence like Saban does
If you equate "excellence" only with wins then you're sadly mistaken. Please don't misunderstand me. I like winning just as much as anyone else. But if the sole standard of "excellence" is wins then you don't know what you're talking about.
Miles exudes excellence in his demeanor, he brings it out in his players, he shows it in his human interactions with others and he creates leaders because of his caring attitude. A true leader brings up other leaders. He doesn't scream, yell, and browbeat them into submission. If you've done any reading, you'll understand that players WANT to play for Miles because of his excellence. Players would COME BACK to play for Miles for the same reason. Make no mistake, he knows football better than probably anyone on the rant. But he has and brings out excellence in himself and others.
I know that this may not be understood by all but I'd rather have Les over Nick any day. I'm positive that Les is one of the guys that's always improving himself. I think it's funny that the one's who think they don't need self-development are the ones that need it the most.
In any case, to you and

Yeah....did the same thing to my great-great-grandmother...then hit her with a sock of nickels....

Member of the 03 NC team told me that after the crystal football ceremony, Saban called Mauck aside in the locker room and demanded he tell him if he was coming back for his senior year.
The fingerprints werent even dry on the crystal football and Saban was already worried about next year.

....and Miles actually knows who his kids are and what his kids do...he is comfortable and balanced because he understands that WIN-AT-ALL-COST though nice for ignorant fans does not teach true life lessons to his family and his players. I think Miles is there as much for his players as he expects them to be there for him. Saban, on the other hand, gives me the impression that the program is all about him and his image, not preparing young men to be successful in life--especially if football ends when they leave Bama.
Saban is successful, lucky, and an opportunist--he isn't as great as he is made out to be. Freak hit on McCoy gives him the advantage--and Bama hung on to win. The do-over in '12 was a gift--and he maximized on it. Last year was a missed tackle that let's Bama escaped with a win--nothing too magical from Saban caused that result.
Miles--coaching is what I do--not who I am.
Saban--coaching is who I am.

I have a friend that had to go to his home to provide a professional service. It required that Tiny Dancer answer questions.
Just wondering, was your friend an insurance adjuster?

yep. plenty times. nice at first and rude other times. Watched him treat my friends elderly father like crap. he is a real douchebag IRL. I got closure on his little arse after the Dolphins-Saints game in 2005 though in Tiger Stadium. he was not happy. I had the cops laughing also at my choice words for Ricky Williams.

Yeah - was on the way to one of those horrible Harry Mokeba poli sci classes when, in the middle of a pedestrian walkway, this coupe comes tearing through and we had to sprint out of the way. Car missed us by about a foot. Twas Nicky himself.
Speedbumps not a part of the process.

As for Emmert, total diva. Emmert is also going to protect Bama and their cheating at all costs.

False. If he gets to the title game, FSU or Oregon will rail them. Bama is not that good this year. They're living on the hype.
