Bech was also wide open on the right side. No one within 20 yards of him.

Best QB to ever make 1 read then takeoff running.

There is about a 10% chance of a designed pass play of ever being completed. His default action is Run 1st, Pass 2nd.

Burrow would start his progression at the very moment of the snap. Daniels takes the snap, back peddles, and only then starts his progressions.

Longest completion - 22 yards. Average completion - 10 yards. Sounds solid to me.

I'd rather a QB who was a good passer, who used his legs as a last resort. Not as a first choice.

As if Burrow wasn't already the greatest college quarterback ever he was also the greatest at this. He wanted to throw every time but he had just enough legs to escape and gain 10 yards with ease.

I've only seen a few of them, but those skycam screenshots are eye opening.

- The right side of the Oline left DEs 1v1 with TEs while the slide left and blocked no one way too many times.

- Daniels missed hot reads and wide open receivers way too many times.

Both of these issues will get better as the season goes. I'm much less concerned about the scheme, but it needs some tweaking as well. The plays were there to be made.

Hard to hold much against him when he was running for his life all night.

Despite that he had good numbers and no turnovers. If the staff will allow more tempo he’s shown he’ll do very well.

He didn't have time to make more than one read. He was engulfed every passing play and had to make a very quick decision and avoid the rushers, which he did in amazing fashion imo.
When receivers haven't completed their routes, he has two choices, throw it up and hope or use his running ability. He was an exceptional runner imo.
Shorter pass patterns in the 4th quarter allowed him to complete passes, and he was very accurate from what I could tell.
JD was the least of our offensive problems.
The OLine is nothing short of pathetic, especially 61, who should never see the field again.

He played really well. Was basically our entire running game and would have had over 80% completion if Kayshon didn’t have 4 drops

I keep seeing this like it’s a good thing. He ran after his first read wasn’t wide open.

Can't read defense pre-snap Nd cannot correct line protection.

Sounds like he doesn't know the offense or his previous 3 yrs as a starter didn't help him develop.

A lot of people who don’t really know football have said he’s one read and run. That’s absolute horseshite in every way it can be.

I mean, you must not have looked past the line and seen 2 or more sets of numbers staring right at him, hoping he would turn his head. The guy never went past his first look. Add to that, his inaccurate throws, and slow reaction.

Tge problem I saw with Daniel’s is he was waiting for guys to get open. He needs to trust his receivers and put the ball where they are supposed to be. That’s what you practice. I think the schemes were fine. They we’re running 4 wide a lot which means you had short intermediate and long routes.

If Daniel’s sees blitz he should know the route that is going to have single coverage and hit that receiver.

Josh Williams should never be in on 3rd downs again. He couldn’t chip worth a shite.

some dudes were saying they would rather a QB back there slinging the ball, picks be damn, as long as he wasn't holding onto it or running.
Yeah that about sums up our fanbase.

If I have enough time to say throw it twice after he drops back or in the shot gun, he had time. You can't hold a block forever. And why not roll him left or right to give him more time.

Play #1 wasn’t a slant. It was a curl & out. Slightly slower developing, but could have scored if he got it out. The defender was essentially on him immediately after Boutte was out of his break. Needs to have better recognition there and be able to stand in.

Play #2 I’m torn on. He’s on the left outside hash with pressure coming from the right. Both Bech & Boutte are far on the right side of the field. That’s a tough low percentage throw to make, especially on 2nd & 18. He got 12 or so yards making the 3rd down manageable, which we converted. I’d like to see him be able to make that throw there to Boutte as we were missing explosive plays, but Denbrock/Kelly could discourage that one as well. Hard to say

Had Brennan been the starter Sunday these same apologist would have burned him at the stake.

Same goes for Nussmier. There was only one reason the starter wasn't named until Sat/Sunday. In hopes Nuss wouldn't enter the portal. Daniels was given the start long ago. And he won't be pull no matter his performance.
It will always be someone elses fault.

I believe this too

You think Brennan high tailed it, at least partially, because he was having to run for his life during camp and his wheels did not compare to Daniels? Outcome - 3rd string.

With oline battle ready different outcome for him?

Go check out the Skyview thread. He missed open guys due to his inability to read defenses and not keeping his eyes downfield.
