Hunter was productive at LSU.

Just not with sacks.

He had a lot of tackles and TFL. Only thing lacking was sacks.

He was a 2nd rounder before the combine and improved his stock with that 40time.

Was 3rd on the team with 73 tackles but led the team in TFL with 13.5. The 2nd best was 7.5.

he's a hard guy to read. I like to see the production to go with the measureables, but im not sure he was best suited playing with his hand down.

6'5" 257 sub 4.6 is pretty special. I see him as more of a 2nd or 3rd rounder, but i wouldnt be shocked if someone picked him in the first.

He had 4.5 sacks in 2 years, that's piss poor terrible. But it's hard to pass on that frame, and maybe he'd be better suited standing up rushing the passer.

I agree with pretty much all of that Lester.

And he had good tackles and TFL, just not sacks. And we haven't had a guy get a decent number of sacks in a few years, including Mingo his last 2 years here. Scheme could have something to do with it.

This is correct.

We all knew he'd blow up the combine, but those freak athletic skills didn't fully translate to the field. I'm still rooting for him though.

3rd on the team in tackles with 73 and led the team with 13.5TFL... That's being productive.

He didn't get sacks. But to say he wasn't productive is wrong.

He'll get drafted high based on athleticism. I don't think he'll have a great career though.

LOL...you guys are comical. You have no idea what he just made. You still have to be able to get off a block....but GM's are usually pretty dumb and they will overlook that small fact.

Nobody said he was going beast mode in the league, but these numbers will get him drafted high (second round is my guess).

I could see him going anywhere from the 3rd to a team in the mid 20s picking him out of nowhere like the eagles picked that random kid out of Louisville last year

You're right. A lot of times he was asked to play contain and set the edge against the run. He should have had a couple more sacks, but with what he was asked to do, he was never going to rack up a lot of sacks.

I think he can be a productive starting 3-4 OLB in the NFL.

It's not an excuse. I said he should have had more sacks. He was a let down when it came to rushing the passer. That said, Chavis' scheme against the spread is to play contain win his DEs and that's going to lead to less sacks and more tackles/TFLs. That's not an excuse, it's reality.

He should have been in the 6-8 sack range to be an effective pash rusher IMO

If you think about it, his skill set as a 3/4 OLB is great. He was known for getting TFL and racking up the tackles. He has good weight at 250+ on a 6'5 frame with sub 4.6 speed. Once he is taught proper technique, he will be able to produce at I high level.
