Where is Leach working now. You would think he would have a job offer by now. To be fair his problems with TTU go way back and are numerous. The James thing was just the final straw.

Last I heard he was working in sports TV doing college football games. But the most disturbing thing is you believe that a person is worthless unless they have a job. So everybody without a job is worthless even though they worked hard for their paycheck. Maybe you are independently wealthy and will never be considered worthless by your standards but you will judged how you judge others.

Thats not at all what I meant. I was commenting on your post about what a great coach he was and how it was all James' fault. I simply said that if he was that great of a coach there would be programs lining up for him and there doesnt seem to be the case.
Also that the James incident isnt the only reason he was fired, he had a history of problems with TTU.

Did you read anything in that post besides the first line? They ran a god awful two minute drill in that game. 3 plays in the last minute and took their time. This pattern has been repeated since several times. Miles puts his team in a poor position to win. It is about more than the throw to the end zone (as the post went on to say, but both people want to debate the last play, which I barely mentioned).

This is the beat thread that I've seen on the rant in a long time.
And Im surprised that no one has mentioned the second game Miles ever coached at LSU when he was seen trying to call a time out after An interception as if the clock wasn't going to stop.

Just get out of here. Your whole post sucked. Just like this one.
And no, I'm not defending ole miss 09 and this past Saturday. But to complain about auburn 07 is completely moronic.

Did you not watch the video I posted? The play was in with over 20 seconds left. Flynn took the time down to read the coverage. The ball was in D Byrd's hands with a minimum of 3 seconds left. It is very easy to defend this.
Which is why I said

Yes, they would have been able to attempt a FG
then went on to say

The point is that Miles' job is to control and help the team run the two minute drill. In the Auburn game, LSU runs something like 3 plays in the last minute of the game. Three fricking plays. That is not putting your team in the best position to win.
Then gave examples of other instances. Feel free to read the entire post before copying one line and arguing with no one.

So it is not his job to put his players in the best position to win? We should only focus on the last play of the game and discount how LSU ran a terrible two minute drill against Auburn (then repeated this pattern several times over the next three years)?

Maybe so. But it's an enormous challenge to best the Gators at home after the arse whipping the gumps gave them last Saturday.

Millen isn't there and I'm sure most savvy football fans could figure out how to work the clock if they're getting paid 4 mil for it.
How much is Mack Brown getting paid?
How much is John Fox getting paid?
How much are you? Never mind.

Actually that final drill was perfectly run. There was time to win, which LSU did.
Go back to watching figure skating, you know nothing about football.

I can't believe that some people are actually defending Miles. He is terrible at clock management and has been for a long time.
Posted on 10/4/10 at 7:50 pm to emmanuellewis
Seemed to me we were in good position two of the three times. Ole miss and Tennessee were blunders, but auburn 07 was not.
Regardless, we were in position to win at least two of the three. And really, we were in position at ole miss, but royally fricked up.

This was a major frick up that worked out luckily. He had no idea there was such a small amount of time on the clock. (he was going by the time that was left before the previous play) I think he was asked and said as much.
No, he was going by how much time was left AFTER the previous play which was somthing like 40 seconds, more than enough time for one last stab at the end zone.
The problem with the Auburn play was 1) Flynn took way too much time getting the play off and 2) an additional two seconds ticked off the clock when it was over.
TN and OM were definite examples of clock mismanagement by Miles but not Auburn '07.

BorntobeaTiger, don't you have some recruits to sway to LSU? Oh yeah, you pimped LSU. Gotcha.

Yes, 07 was sometime ago, but I was at that game and recall what a risky play to throw to the end zone when a midrange FG wins the game. Why risk throwing to the end zone and risking a pick? What if the ball get batted around the end zone and time expires? I recall after this game, LM commented something to the effect that he thought there was more time on the clock. 92k fans knew only seconds remained..apparently LM was the only one that didn't. The AU game needs mentioning because it was the beginning of his lack of judgement/clock mismanagement.

So, who does ESPN want to win the National Championship?

Palmer was pretty much dead on, except about the Auburn game in '07. If Byrd doesn't catch the ball you still have about 3 seconds to kick.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My recollection is Byrd catching the ball and running out the back of the endzone w/ 1 or 2 seconds on the scoreboard clock. If the pass had been incomplete, there would have been at least that much time left and we'd kick the field goal to win.
Calling the pass, if successful, eliminated the need for a pressure kick.

I was there. Stupid move that happen top work out. And what makes you think in Miles resume, would lead you to believe he could get another play off in 3 sec?
you people need to let this one go, there are enough real examples to talk about and this ain't one of them. To be clear, the CLOCK STOPS ON AN INCOMPLETE PASS UNTIL THE NEXT SNAP.
Move on please.
