Top 10 or so program all time is not "just above average."

Based on what?
How many national championships. 3. ‘59, 03 and 07. Never close other than ‘12

How many SEC championships? Not many.

If you want to compare us to Kentucky, Missouri and Oregon State then ya we are elite.

But it’s not a big deal to consistently win 9 games a season when 6 of them are basically gimmes.

Most of our history has not been that great.

Im confused. We went 9-3, which is basically what the program has been at since saban’s recruits left the program. How is O crushing it for going 9-3 when miles was blasted for that same record. Expectations have really dropped around here

I guess you can’t be objective and realize what he inherited vs what he did this year. 9-3 with huge national wins and a program that appears organized and making smart decisions. If you don’t notice the difference from going 9-3 and making mind numbing decisions to stumble to victories vs winning games with minimal depth but better organization and discipline....sorry. We won the fiesta bowl with WR’s repping DBU. He didn’t inherit a stacked roster but appears to be making it better each year. Ascension is what we prefer, no?

Saban also won 6 national championships. Orgeron has won a Fiesta Bowl.

Wasn't the 90's the only time LSU didn't finish a decade with a winning record? LSU ranks 12th in all-time wins with a .652 winning percentage. I'd say that is above average

Based on the total resume, fan base, players, etc. Check any ranking on the internet. LSU is right around 10 and still moving up.

I dont see the ascension, i see more of the same, which is pretty good, not crushing it. Crushing it wouldve been bringing in top offensive line recruits, firing the OC and oline coach, and getting a better one. The best assistant coaches in the country i believe we were told. Be honest, do you believe ensminger is that?

he did though, the team he took over probably had the 4th most talent in the nation. The issue was the previous coach didn't maximize it. The "talent" argument is a weak excuse at Les's last 4 recruiting classes averaged 5th in the nation

Getting blown out by Ole Miss (31-14) and Arkansas (38-17) in Les' last season does not compare to losing to two top 10 teams (one on the road) and a top 20 team on the road by 2 points in OT.

If you think it is the same, then good luck to you.

I now it makes you feel better about your pathetic existence, Otees, to think that others are miserable. Enjoy your O circle jerk.

We fired Miles, Ree. That's the point.

And i can be honest with what he inherited. It was an awesome DC with great defense. He also inherited a bad offense with an average OC and not so great Qb.
He got lucky much like miles did in getting a good qb transfer, those arent guaranteed. And much like miles, even with that good qb, we are still 9-3 with a below average offense

I disagree the oline and dline that Coach O inherited was not very good especially the dline. I loved Lacoutre and Gilmore for the effort but they just were not good.

the issue came when you had several of those kids transfer out of the program. I know where this argument starts going around and I've linked all of the OL/DL players on the roster when O was hired. LSU had talent, LSU had depth. LSU took a hit when some kids left & injuries happened. We can go round and round about this, but, I find O has done a good job of maintaining what the previous staff did, he needs to get over the hump though.

After 12 years getting blown out by Ole Miss and Arkansas it is understandable.

In his second year Eaux lost to two teams who finished in the top 10 (one played for the NC and the other was a close game on the road) and a team that finished top 20 on the road by 2 points in OT.

They are not the same.

If only he could finish ranked top 10 to end a season. That's wishful thinking though.
