So with all this talk of him crushing it and bringing the program back, we can expect an 10-11 win regular season and at least a competitive game against Bama next year right?

Otherwise, he isn't doing anything different this program hasn't done the last several years.

Miles recruited just as well.

It is well known among SEC coaches that Les Miles recruited poorly for need, and thusly had gaps in areas that cost team performance.

The guy was taking up for you. Even he didn't think you were dumb enough to think I was saying Les got blown out by OM and Arky 12 years in a row.

I just thought that your point, like so many others, lacked context and anything beyond a basic level of thoughtful analysis.

Crushing what?
He had a nice season, but it was a season LSU should have yearly as far as I'm concerned. Recruiting looks fantastic right now and I'm glad he has kept it up, but he really hasn't made a significant hire. I want to see him really compete for an SEC title or a playoff spot.

exactly. What they won’t admit is UM and AU were shite and the reality this was closer to 5 losses than it was to 12 wins. Miles “crushed it” when it came to recruiting if you use this season as a measuring stick. What they won’t admit is last year recruiting sucked.
I would have expected Miles to have more wins the last 2+ years than what O had based on his past performance such as not losing to 2017 Troy, MSU and UF last season for example.
And what about all those defections between the time Miles left and he took over?

It is smoke and missies because
1. In 2016 a shite load of coaches were fired.
2. There were a bunch of new hires and your rivals that you MUST BEST REGULARLY, got significantly better at the head coaching spot with TAMU (2017 loss) and UF (2017 loss).
If AU wasn’t in balls deep with their weakness head coach, it would be even worse.

2018 will be a good litmus test as far as seasons go because at least those programs they will be facing will have had a chance to get their programs in place. LSU HAD THE SAME COACHES SO THERE WASNT A “Transition”.

So much bullshite these idiots try to pump.

You mean like in the areas of quarterbacks and offensive tackles...? who has Coach O brought in again in those position?

The linebacker deficiency was all on chavis, and aranda was well on his way to fixing that while miles was still here.

Am I missing any other positions? And don't say defensive line. Coach has brought in maybe one big-name a year there, and they've seemed to underperform relative to their rating.

Reserving judgment for now. The upcoming season will be a watershed season in terms of the offense.

As I stated before, I've linked the DL/OL that were under Les/O the last few years. The issue became attrition not talent as a few of those kids didn't want to be at LSU after Les was fired.

Who knew 10-3, 5-3, 10th best O in SEC and down turn in our D would now be “Crushing it”.
