LSU owes Aggie nothing from the 90's.

Being known as a school that sues its former coaches is not something you want.

Surely I don't need to continue the Captain Obvious thought process.

Stinginess got us Saban

We didn't throw the house at him. We did agree to make him the highest paid if he won the MNC

Buyouts are at least negotiated by all schools

Not to hijack the thread with this, but when we hired Saban (I think 1.2 million/year) that was a lot of money at the time, a lot of people thought we paid too much.

Chavis gave LSU the opportunity to match and we said no

And Alleva was a dick about it which played a significant role in the whole turn of events.

Les did not freak out on Chavis. Let me put it this way: les is not too pleased with Alleva right now.

he broke 7-figures when very few made that. i think he was top 5 in salary when we initially hired him

it was a major "wtf" moment for CFB

If Alleva and Miles are not on the same page Alleva has to go.

Fair enough I didn't remember it being top 5, but don't remember well enough to not trust you.

Aka you are probably right

Neither Chavis or Sumlin have come out and said anything, so good luck proving a verbal contract exists.

I'm sure Chavis personally informed Miles of his intentions.

Legally, that might be enough to cause the buyout to be paid.

I think we made Saban the third highest paid coach in football when we hired him back in 2000.

I think we were paying DiNardo around $600k.
