Ware will outshine Dyer and Lattimore this year. He was the cream of the rb class last year. They just went to teams with less rb depth.

So Ware is going to outshine the best freshman running back in the nation last year and the BCS Championship Game MVP, but Magee will shine in the Spring? Maybe 2013, but Ware will be the starter through 2012 and maybe 2013 if he chooses.

Exactly. I still think Magee is bringing in the most talent at RB from last years class, just that Hilliard is u ique is his style/size. Because Hillard is a bruiser, I think he plays as a tFR. I just think Magee is better. CLM was quoted saying that Magee was the best offensive player in our ultra loaded state last year.

I feel pretty good about the future. And after watching the spring game twice yesterday, I must admit Gore does have a really quick burst he hits the hole with.

Magee = Faulk

Only thing that concerns me is Hilliard = prototypical Miles Big Back. Not that having Hilliard as the starter would be a bad thing. Just saying I fear for Magee as far as PT.

We have so much talent at the rb position that we can almost all be happy with which player gets the bulk of the carries.

Ware looks to be the total package for what Miles/LSU likes to run. Ford is also going to get a lot of carries and he really started to come on towards the end if the season. Gore looks to be in the mix for some carries this year. I was impressed with his running in the spring game.

But I also am really excited about Magee. I saw him in person play a few times and he is a tremendous athlete.

I think having so much talent like we have at the position is a great thing. Definitely will be interesting to see how the coaches handle the carries.

I skipped two pages so SIAP, but the junk about Ford being lazy is ridiculous. Anyone remember the article about him being a gym-rat, second only to Richardson? I think Ware definitely has something special going, but this is the SEC, people get dinged up. Didn't we F up Mark Ingram last year? Or was he already hurt when we played Ala? You have to have 2-3 solid backs, even with a Qb who can light up the ground like JJ.

His lack of playing time stems from the fact that Ware is playing out of his mind. The only other things are team rules like some of you mentioned, and blocking assignments. I haven't seen anyone mention BA's, but when you have as many Rb's as we do, helping with blitz pick-ups can sperate you from the pack or leave you on the sidelines as the #2 in a 2 back system.

Ford didn't play as much as people expected last year because he couldn't learn the playbook. I think Magee and Hillard may redshirt this year. Because magee and gore are kind of the same type of back and hillard and ware are the same type. There is really no NEED for either to play this year unless someone gets hurt

There nothing cautious about my optimism for Spencer Ware. I think he's going to be a special back for LSU.

And whomever said Ridley was serviceable, come on. 4th round draft pick, one of the fastest shuttle times at the combine. Ridley is a good back. Not a game changer but he was good, much better than "serviceable". Our offense came to depend on the running game, specifically Ridley and the line.

Ware, Ford, Blue and so on..... who cares, we should love the stable we have of backs and wish nothing but success this year and their future. After these 3 guys theres, Gore, Magee, and Hillard... gotta love what the future looks like for our RBs

Ridley got lots of yac, which I didn't see from Ford in his carries, limited as they were.

No one is underestimating Ford. The Rant jerks it to his weightlighting numbers. He’s one of the best players on the team in this board’s opinion when he doesn’t even crack the top 10 in real life.

A lot of people are underestimating Gore's role imo. I think he is more in the mix than people think.

Now this is true. Gore will get as many, if not more, carries as Ford. Miles and Kragthorpe LOVE what he brings to the table.

None of the true freshman this year are talented enough to compete with the upperclassman at the RB position.

Ware and Gore are both electrifying backs that are fun to watch. I expect to see some of Ford, but it's not about a "dog house" with him as much as it is just him not panning out.

Gore likely gets the most touches after ware because he brings a different skillset than the other guys.

Trying to project the RB depth chart based on the spring game is a mistake. I don't see why people have Blue over Ford.
I wouldn't be surprised if Gore barely sees the field. Shep had a good number of spring game carries and look how that worked out. Magee doesn't really fit our typical RB either, which is a shame because I think he could be good.

They have so many good running backs this year that I think it would be wise to redshirt Kenny Hilliard. Ware, Ford and Gore should all get a lot of touches this season. (Not a huge Blue fan)
