yeah we've been hurting for talent, not like we've been putting guys in the NFL at record numbers or anything. MOAR TALENT!!

Booger is polishing a slug of dung.

How come everyone that compliments Steele talks about his recruiting?
I think it is akin to "She has a Great Personality"

our defenses havent been talented the last 2 years. And it showed. He's kinda right.

Pure horseshite. Maybe that was true in Booger's day, but it's a different era now. College offenses are much more sophisticated and difficult to defend with all of the different systems and variations of the spread. You are very rarely just lining up and playing the guy in front of you anymore. Scheming and X's & O's are every bit as important as the talent.

He didn't say the guy can't coach. He said he is a great recruiter. And when it comes to defense, he is absolutely right about great players make great plays not schemes. Defense is all about the talent you have unless you are out the box, like a Tepper. Chavis was a bit out the box with his love of tiny LB's and small DL's. If Steele is more conventional, which he seems to be, combined with being a good recruiter, which Chavis wasn't, then it is a big time upgrade in recruiting, coaching, and scheme, and a great hire.

Bc talent overcomes a lot of coaching deficiencies. Period. U stack the talent you overcome a lot of deficiencies. Saban has run the same shite for years but only a few have kicked his arse. You stack the talent and it makes coordinators look like gurus. 2011 LSU had supreme talent, they ran the same shite Chavis has been running for years. Talent my brothers talent

You can see the difference between LSU and Bama, Ohio St, even Fla St and Oregon. They are bigger stronger, faster and more athletic. I know you guys want to compare to Ole Miss, Miss St, and Arkansas, but this is LSU and we should expect more.

LMAO football is the same its still about the fundamentals. Its still the same shite. Oh bc you have to cover in space now its so radically different. U are kix

Since you brought up 2011, did LSU suddenly lose talent from Nov 2011 to Jan 2012? What was the difference in the two games? One might guess that one coaching staff adjusted and another coaching staff went in with the exact same game plan.
In 2011 Ohio State went 7-6. In 2012 they went 12-0. Did they get that much more talented in one season?

Nice. Wonder why Les just didn't pick up a few ranters for the DC job. The out of work ones would be a cheap hire.

Yeah, it fricking is different, which is why offenses are so much more potent nowadays. The systems are sophisticated and more difficult to defend, schematically. Or maybe you'd just have us believe that defensive talent across the board in college football has suddenly plummeted the past few years.

Name some defensive first or second rounders on this team the last 2 years? Or high draft picks. We got 1! We will have none this year. As of this year who is gonna be a high draft pick on defense? Adams? Beckwith maybe. Godchaux. We still dont have a stud DE.
Posted on 1/13/15 at 10:04 pm to Choupique19
Defense played their arse off in that game. Now in 2011 OSU was in fricking turmoil. We all know that Tressel had talent stocked up. If Tressel was there the team doesn't go 7-6. U know that.

Yes, I agree with you about the 2011 defense in the title game and Ohio St.
Why didn't your St. Aug Knights win the state title with the best talent in the state?
I agree that in college, getting the players is a huge part of the equation, but they still have to be coached up and given a chance to succeed. Steele better be able to match X's and O's with Mahlzahn, Freeze, and Sumlin or we will get torched.
