I disagree. The proof is in the pudding. Coaching is vital.

That's correct. Players make plays, not schemes. Coaches make schemes.

How come everyone that compliments Steele talks about his recruiting? We hired him to be our defensive coordinator. Somebody is going to have to decide whether to blitz or not, play man or zone, even or odd front, etc.

Really? Cuz I see this board go on full melt down retard when we lose a player, especially a defensive one, remember Collins I'm sure you do, to bama , A&M, or some place out of state. I cringe with what I'm about to say to but don't y'all think coaching under Saban this guy probably learned a lot? Maybe saban is losing a few steps, his arse whipping but OSU should tell us that he could be possibly losing a few steps, and with LSU taking one of Sabans main guys, Saban could continue to decline and LSU will start to lock down the state again. Completely. It also seems to me Bama has put in some pretty damn good linebackers in the NFL lately. If its one area on defense that LSU could use an upgrade at I think linebacker could be it. Plus they can always promise recruits that holy grail of jack linebacker lol. Or whatever saban calls it that seems to pull in all the defensive guys.

This is what I am saying. This is a meh hire at best. We needed a guy to call a good game on defense. Lot of these fools were jumping on guys who could recruit when we have done a pretty damn decent job with Chavis not lifting a damn finger to recruit.

All I can do now is hope we are good.

Stop the run and put pressure on the qb equals success on the defensive side of the ball.. Maybe just maybe Steele will get the d line back to being dominate, that has been LSU problem the last 2 years. They need that Sam, Mingo, Nevis, Logan, Brockers swag back. 0 pass rush lately.

Hogwash! We should all be hoping for losings seasons so the entire coaching staff gets canned including the AD. Because nothing guarantees success like completely cleaning house.

Wrong. Our scheme is fine when we have a qb able to execute it.

Some of you are completely miserable. You want him to fail.

It doesn't matter who we would've hired. If we hire Pendergast then some group is on here saying "well Miles will ruin him, he ran off Chief"

I'll wait to see the results on the field.
