Well this obviously sucks. Pulling an asst coach this late in the game is tough. At least we have a ton of talent to entice Someone that is hungry.

He's overkill. You don't need a strongside load when you can straight up play zone in the college game.

a lot of NBA front office or coaching gigs are filled after the draft so the timing isnt that surprising. it sucks in regards to our situation of having to hire another coach but the good thing is treloar is by no means one of our bush-beating recruiter types a la patrick. if patrick was leaving for an nba job i'd be much more worried.

it is still an important hire though and i think you need a similar profile coach to treloar i.e. a bench coach who can glue the staff together. hands-on who can teach and fundamentally develop the guys. every other coach plays their role, patrick the ace recruiter, leonard the old hand, pinkins is another recruiter type. wonder if johnny gives cyprien a call, but i would make a strong push for mike sanders as he has some of those teaching qualities down pat from being a developmental coach in the pros for so long.

the hawks have reshuffled their front office so its no surprise they maybe reached out to treloar. timing could have been better but i don't think he intentionally set out to screw LSU over. this could turn out to be like johnny's first year where shawn forrest fell through then patrick fell into our lap.

I heard he's got the inside track on an extremely hairy 9-foot recruit.
