Someone give me hard numbers so I can let "The Hat" know what he must do to get some respect.

Its all about public perception of football intelligence.

Weiss won super bowls working under Belichik

according to whom?

i'd say a strong majority on this will never say he's a good coach. there's also certain loud mouths on this board who will certainly never say he's a good coach.

i'd just let his record do the talking.

Case is closed ... Miles is a good coach. there's absolutely no argument on the flip side.

The argument should be over whether or not Miles is a "great" coach ... that's the only thing up for debate.

Anyone that says Les Miles isn't a good coach is just an idiot looking for attention.

Les is good. I love his gambling attitude. I think the issue with a lot of people is that we aren't similar to florida, bama, and USC in the way they put games away early.. but these aren't exactly the most conservative. Miles loves running the ball, more than passing, I'm sure.. and that's fine with me..as long as it gets touchdowns and the W.

He's not the flashiest, but he does what it takes to get the job done.

The only reason I would rank Charlie better than Miles is a sign on GameDay that said in big block lettering "DID CHARLIE WEIS EAT ANOTHER RECRUIT?".

True. That is why the Miles-Saban debate rages among LSU fans. Many LSU fans believe Saban is great whereas Miles is only good or even average, although there is nothing in Saban's overall record to indicate he is clearly better than Miles.

Saban took over an LSU program that had suffered through a long dry spell of not being in the national picture and made LSU relevant again. But for anyone to argue Miles has not done a good job of maintaining the program would be dumb. Miles may not be the most eloquent public speaker or raise enough hell on the sidelines to suit certain fans, but it is hard to argue with the end result, wins and losses.

What does a bad x's and o's coach mean? Does that mean he doesn't know as much about football as Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, Pete Carroll, or Bob Poops? Is that what it means? Seriously. I get agravated with some of what the coaching staff does sometimes, but to think he knows less about football than these guys is not accurate. He's coached in the NFL. He didn't get to do that by being an idiot, or not knowing what the frick is goin on.

Just a little side note about one of the premier coaches above, Les Miles has a better record in bowl games that Bob Poops. I bet everyone in the country considers him one of the top 5 or 10 coaches in the country. Just a little something to think about.

Let's see him go 4-1 in his next five games and I will jump on board.
