Look at a team like La Tech. Step in the shoes of one of their fans for a couple of weeks. They still have fun.
Tell me....If watching LSU slaughter their opponents is the most fun thing about LSU football, then why do season ticket holders not buy out the Tulane and ULL games, etc.? Because people want to see close games that we know we have a chance of losing. Even if our play is frustrating, I always look forward to watching LSU play. ALWAYS.

let them lose the next 24 in a row, then we could really see who the true fans are, this forum is a place where little guys can talk big with no consequences, when these boards are used to flame on 1 or 2 posters, it becomes a net ego fest, not much substance left

If being called a Jackass surprises you, then you must be a new reader of this site. TD if a very good site for information with many good posters. On the other hand it the worst for vulgar, hateful comments.

Sometimes you do things that you don't like to do, but you do them anyway. Just ask my girlfriend she can tell you.

SuperD....you're must be weak if you can't deal with the fact that I have a differing opinion than your own. this is a message board after all isn't it? I certainly don't mind you sharing yours...it's a free country. My original post was simply voicing my opinion.
Resorting to the personal attacks because I decide to voice my opinion just makes you out to be a foolish child. I'm referring to the "UT" reference by the way.

I agree. No one can point to any improvements, so they bash. You can be a fan and remain objective at the same time.
Maybe someone can respond to this question. If Russell Shepard and/or Rueban Randall were at Bama or Florida, do you think that they would be a major part of the offensive equation or just VIP spectators?
Can someone explain why we show so many blitz packages in bowl games, but play bend don't break during the regular season? Don't give me the b.s. about prep time (4 weeks vs 5 days). It is proven that if you blitz the average college QB, they are not athletic enough to avoid the blitz and make bad decisions. Blitz packages are learned in spring and August.
If "the product" remains the same, and continues to erode, people will not come. Period.
Tiger Stadium is becoming the "Big House" of the South. Pack 'em in, get rowdy early, and let Miles' game plan take all of the air out of the ballon. Last Saturday night, there was a perfect example. The crowd had long been removed as a factor in the game. It was the 3rd quarter., and Scott ran for 4 yards up the middle. It was the loudest applause since the first quarter. 4 yards and a cloud of dust gets an ovation. Can you say Michigan vs. Northwestern. Know that's football!!
Bottom line, there are coaches across the land that would need a bib if you told them that they could have our talent. These players would contribute immediately with any other system or coach. In Baton Rouge, they become UAW members, and wait their turn according to seniority.

you probably don't know this since it's your first post and all, but it would be wise to keep your objective opinions away from here.
* ETA..you also cannot be an LSU fan unless you think LSU will win every game they play.

I have read most of this thread...Thought I'd throw my two cents in.....
LSU Wayne, you and several others have a problem here that you aren't going to get over. There are problems with this team, I grant you. I see coaching problems, OL problems, young QB problems. I am not however so negative as to think that the team will not have a decent year in spite of the problems. If you don't think so, why not watch someone else? Or go for a three hour walk. It's stupid to torture yourself by watching something you hate. This sounds like masochistic behavior to me.
As for me, Saturday I watched a Tiger team go toe to toe with one of the probably 2 best teams in the country and hold them to 13 points. Who else has done that to Florida? Everytime I watch the Tigers, I am as excited as a 6 year old on Christmas morning, and i have been watching since I was 8 years old. Thats about 50 years.
If you are so miserable over what is happening, stick around it can get worst. I've seen it.
I have also seen the glory of 3 NCs in those 50 years. If the coaches don't straighten this out it will be a long 6 games. But you know what? I will still watch and I will NOT make myself miserable. I will still be yelling for my Tigers and will be just as enthusiastic about next year.

I read to page 4 before I decided to throw my two cents in to this debate. When I was enrolled at LSU I lived and died by LSU football and the wins and losses. I was pissed when we lost. And it ruined my weekend.
Then I graduated and realized that never once did the football result actually effect anything that occurred in my life. I watch and go to the games (if I have tickets, which I dont) because I want to watch LSU football. The result SHOULD NOT affect your lives. Jesus, grow the F up. Yes I want the team to win and I am slightly disappointed if we lose but life goes on.
During the goal line stand at MSU I was not thinking "holy crap we could loose to MSU. But rather lets go and stop them, this is exciting."

Thanks fo reponding to my post. I have also been a Saints fan from day one. How miserable is THAT. I like you would go to work or school Monday mornings all pssed off. Stayed pissed off all week til they lost again. Realized like you it didn't matter in my lifethat much. Still watch, still a fan.

Thought I'd throw this out:
Earlier this week there were a couple of negatigers who actually said they wished Miles had not "backed" into the NC in 2007. Wished he'd gone to Michigan instead. Another guy said he was AT the NC game against OSU and he and everyone around him were all saying the same thing. That this was not good for the program because we would probably be stuck with Miles for awhile. I called them both liars, got no response.
How negative is THAT?

if people would realize that the fans are not criticizing the team but the lack of imaginative, play calling and coaching by the high paid coaching staff

This thread is not about emotionless criticism of the plays LSU runs. This thread was about a person who said that his liking LSU rises and falls with whether they win or not. Fanhood means liking your team no matter what, AND being proud that they try hard. I love LSU and always will, no matter how bad they lose. And when LSU rises up and dominates, it means a whole lot more to those of us who loved LSU when they were down.

no LSU fan can honestly say that they enjoyed that game. I enjoyed the atmoshphere and the yelling but the actual game was BORING. I'm pretty sure u wouldn't want season tickets to watch LSU gain 100 yards of total offense and lose 3-0 every game
