I have found that comments like that are, for the huge majority of the time, richly deserved by those they are directed at.

I'll regret this, but I'll answer...

If Russell Shepard and/or Rueban Randall were at Bama or Florida, do you think that they would be a major part of the offensive equation or just VIP spectators?

Spectators. I'm sorry, how crappy do you think our current players are that some freshman can waltz on and suddenly be our best player? Almost everyone on this team was a high profile recruit. they can all ball. Tebow didn't start right away, he was just a gimmick his first year. In his freshman year, he never ran the ball more than 9 times in a game and had 33 pass attempts all season. and he is among the best players ever. Shep is getting touches, but he's not a focal point of the offense., Probably because he looks like he weighs 100 pounds soaking wet.

And Randle is on the field. He's just not getting open. And he's not making many catches. Which is pretty similar to all of the previous LSU receivers. Ya know, those ones who went in the first round. Randle is, at this point, NOT AS GOOD as LaFell and Toliver. He will eventually be on their level. He just isn't yet. That makes him a freshman.

Can someone explain why we show so many blitz packages in bowl games, but play bend don't break during the regular season?

Becuase blitzing has risk. It opens up the field and a good pocket QB will tear apart the man coverage and a good running QB will break contain and rush for huge gains. I absolutely hate how people believe that blitzing nonstop equals good defense. I'm not saying never blitz, but blitzing has cost which people just completely ignore. Blitzing leads to a lot of big gains for the offense.

Bottom line, there are coaches across the land that would need a bib if you told them that they could have our talent. These players would contribute immediately with any other system or coach. In Baton Rouge, they become UAW members, and wait their turn according to seniority.

Yet again, a stupid clown chimes in. Just 2 examples sonnyboy. We have heard ad nauseum about AJ Greene and Julio Jones being examples of freshmen starting and how Rueben Randle is just like them and should start like they did.
Tell us sonnyboy, which reciever should Randle replace? Tolliver or Lafell? Green and Jones signed on with teams that had nobody at one of their wideout spots. They were more talented than the guys there and their coaches played them accordingly. You really think Randle is better than Tolliver or Lafell? If you do you are less than stupid.

would you say that randle at this point as a freshman is worse, as good, or better than chris mitchell, rj jackson, or trindon holiday considering they were in the 5 wide set vs fla while rr was riding the pine. i realize we beat uga and all, but rr greatly contributed to that win with 2 HUGE catches. let the boy play!

see above post. i don't think anyone is wanting rr to start over lafell or tt, but i think it's pretty reasonable that he get more playing time than mitchell, and definitely rjj and trindon (wr).

Have you considered the possibility that he does not know the plays as well as those you mention? He plays in spots like most freshmen on talent laden teams do.

kinda like jefferson didn't know the plays while jarett lee was throwing all of those pick sixes? come on dude!

i can see rr as wr4 as this point, but no way should rjj and trindon be on the field ahead of him unless th in running a reverse.

am i the only one who caught this?

Your language is too strong for me but I can understand your sentiments. I think most Tiger fans had high hopes ad great expectations (and rightly so?) only to have them dashed.

Still hoping our O can gel. So much talent to work with. Hard to imagine but if our O does gel and with our D only getting better, we could very well run the table, avenge our loss to the lizards, and play for it all (and Les does pretty good in bowl games).
