not true

the team who is going to win the SEC this year is a team who has dominating pitching and can do enough to score runs.

UCLA won with this formula last year
LSU went 5-0 when having 17 bunts

If it works why change?

Note: we aren't a small ball team we are just using small ball more often.

Listening to the radio and they are saying Bregman bunted twice this week. Good lord 17 bunts this week?

Maybe to an average baseball fan that's boring or bad for baseball. But if you actually know a thing about baseball, a bunt and run, hit and run, double steal, squeeze, etc. is nothing but just good baseball.

Sorry you're not an intellectual baseball fan and only care for the long ball.

I don't know. If we get the leadoff runner on in the early innings Friday night, I wouldn't be against it.

When I played baseball I bunted regularly because of my speed. Most of the time it was a base hit. What is wrong with bunting if it is successful?

yes especially when you have a dominating pitcher like bebe (how ever you spell it) and if you bring up quick runners like Laird or Stevenson.

Now I wouldn't sac bunt with bregs or Scivicque at the plate. They crush the ball normally so give them a chance to produce a big inning.

Note: if we start to struggle at the plate and we aren't bunting much I will refer back to this thread if people start calling for more bunts

many people, myself included, don't like small ball and have grown up with an LSU baseball team who swings away at the plate, but if we bunt well than I'm not going to be against it, but I don't think everyone thinks the same way I do.

Depends on the game and pitcher you are going against. Obviously runs will be at a premium with Beede and nola. So its not bad there. No excuse for it IMO on saturday and sunday.

why?

If our Sat and Sunday guys continue to pitch the way they are. 1 or 2 runs a game then bunting could win a game for us.

UCLA won on small ball last year and great pitching, so why isn't it good baseball?

you must face it josh we are out of the just swing away every time you go the plate and have success.

Chances are 1 or two runs will not win those games. Bouman and poche arent throwing against yale. Why give up one of our precious outs and a chance to have a big inning by playing for 1 run in the 1st 3 innings. Play for the crooked number.

Why does everyone only refer to last years title game? They have played 3 world series in that stadium, and why is those 2 weeks of play worth more than the whole 2013 aeason? It was too small of a sample size.

So many people can't grasp the difference.
There are tards out there that think every fly ball was a homerun attempt, or if you bunt one time you are suddenly a small ball club.

It's just another weapon in our offensive arsenal. Especially when you have several players that can effectively bunt for a hit. We're not turning into a West Coast team.

I agree, i just find it a faulty logic when people say we should start bunting all the time because ucla got hot for a couple weekends late last season

Nice job being all condescending. look, you can try to tell me this boring brand of baseball found in the current NCAA is "good, clean, fundamental baseball".

I call BS, and ask why if it's so important to the game that we rarely see it at the pro level.

Probably not but bunting helps produce offense if bunting leads to some runs this weekend I will be happy and not think we are stupid for doing it.

I think you and I are mostly on the same page I like swinging away but I don't think bunting or the hit and run is a bad thing.
