It's been working so I don't really see the issue. Hell many of them ended up as hits. Have to practice for TD Ameritrade park.

I liked what Alex did. You've got 3 other guys hitting just as well right behind him. It keeps the defense honest. And one of his bunts was a curveball and showed his bat handling ability. Dynamic is a good thing and gives us more options and the ability to adjust in multiple parks and weather.

Bregman plays smart. The 3rd baseman was playing way back to try and cut off hard hit balls to the hole and Bregs made a good bunt. Bregman hits the ball hard so dropping some bunts will make sure defenders play honest.

The NCAA has made the game unwatchable for me

I just started following LSU Baseball on Twitter to get the in-game tweets and I have seen several instances where LSU was working on small ball.

- bunts
- double steals
- think there was a squeeze play that scored a run

Glad that they're using the non-conference games to work on advancing runners and plating runs this way. I'd rather see the long ball, but ya got to adapt to the current state of NCAA baseball.

OK, so this isn't really about LSU or Bregman, just another generic "NCAA/Small ball/ruined the game for me" thread?

Today's game is small ball. Adapt or keep sucking in Omaha. Fly outs to the warning track dont help.

Pretty much. I have held this view ever since they noodled the bat. I have season tickets and don't attend this year.

I'm not one of those basketball fans that is upset that the bitter baseball fans shitted on the basketball team all year.

I am upset because the NCAA made the game boring. It's finally here. Another bunt.

Give me your tickets.

"Baseball fans" weren't alone in shitting on the basketball team at times. In fact, please link this. Russian doesn't count.

Yeah, I hate seeing our kids try to manufacture runs as opposed to jumping all over a pitch only to have it caught 30ft short of the wall.

they want to practice them against the shitty teams we are playing now, so that if they are needed to bunt against stiffer competition, they will be ready

OK? I hope you've given them away. If not, you're a dick and need to get over it.

It's called small ball....UCLA won a NC playing this way....I'm glad to see Manieri doing this.

I suppose Manieri could pull a Saban and push for a rule outlawing small ball.

I didn't see this. Most of the fans in the baseball threads were also attending LSU basketball games.

I jumped hard on the LSU basketball bandwagon until we lost at Texas A&M. There have been times that I have been critical of them, but I'm a complainer by nature. I gripe about all of the LSU programs at times. Don't always take a comment complaining about a specific play or coaching decision as a blanket "negatiger" label.
