Well, sir, the Qbs do not make the plays that allow the offense to score enough points to beat, say, Alabama. Now do they?

Maybe the question should be what decisions were not made to help the QB.

1.Take two above average tackles and turn them into below average Guards. change should have been made. It was obvious the foot work was not there.

2.6'7 center playing out of position. Bama exposed this on every snap.

3.The TE who was a glorified lineman at over 300lbs goes down and we don't replace him with a lineman and expect to run the same O. Jeter was exposed against the weak teams.

4.Walk on FB goes down and they replace him with a freshman while Williams and Guice sit the bench.

5.Power running team that consistently gets cute on first and goal when this is one of the greatest arguments for running a power running offense vs. the spread.

6. Bad communication from the booth to the sideline to the players constantly keeping the offense and QB out of sync.

7. One of the most penalized teams constantly keeping the offense and QB out of sync.

Well what about Chad Kelly?

His first year at Ole Miss he was the best QB in the conference. Either ole Miss has 10x better qb coaching than we do or JUCOs can actually coach.

harris has trouble throwing an accurate ball 10 yards to wide open receivers.

maybe the QB's that they recruit just aren't very good? now harris has great arm strength and can really whip the ball around but he has very little touch and is ridiculously inconsistent.

this has been a really disappointing season. harris has been on campus since january 2014 so next month he will have been in the system 2 full years.

what is sync? the offense is a discombobulated mess full of penalties, dropped balls, inaccurate passes and head scratching long developing passing plays.

don't forget the mass confusion in just getting a play called and the proper personnel on the field

We did: Flynn, Perriloux(while he lasted) and Mett.

We have to get a decent QB first. We don't have one. BH is marginal at best.

The successful pre second year starter is kinda an albatross when looking at the highest ranked QBs in the Power 5

2014 season champ - Sophomore, was it? With limited experience
2013 champ - Redshirt Freshman
2010 - I'll concede not an underclassman, but no experience at the D1 level

And that's just the national championship teams, that's not talking about other schools/players who've had success in the last 5-10 years with young QBs.

Who are all these young college qbs that excelling at a pro style offense?

So why be in a pro style offense if underclassmen will struggle so badly?

He isn't better than Dak and being the 2nd best qb in the sec this year isn't a hard thing to do.

Lets ignore the fact that two quarterbacks were first round draft picks.

They can't comprehend that those qbs are the outliers.

I wanna here what the really smart analysts on this board have to say.

if I say we recruit the wrong kind of QBs I'll get roasted, but its true. Look back, Mauck and Flynn were not pocket QBs, they were athletic and were game-smart QBs... they worked because they ran in a non-traditional more "wide-open" offense...which was run by Fisher/Crowton.

Perilloux was the same way, he worked in Crowton's more open offense.

Jarrett Lee was the most successful QB (in 2011) because he had a brain and could run this pro-ish style offense.

Mettenberger (arguably the most developed QB we've had under Miles) was the prototypical pro-style QB who could chuck the ball anywhere you asked him to. He had a big arm, had a brain, and could run a pro-style.

Since Mett, we've only recruited more athletic type QBs who do better on the move and making plays with their feet, not their heads by reading defenses or calling audibles.

every QB is gonna have drops as said in the OP, but my take on this issue is that we are recruiting the wrong type of QBs... get more guys like Mett and I think we'll be okay.

let the roast begin.

Since Mett, we've started two true sophomores with no starting experience at the collegiate level. Last year these guys were struggling just to get everyone lined up correctly, let alone read defenses and call audibles.

We've had 1 solid upperclassman QB in the last, what, 8 years?

Doesn't sound like a solid college strategy based on what you're telling me, no?

1. You're ignoring all of the other examples I didn't mention specifically but referenced.

2. LSU isn't a good enough school to get a 1st round draft pick caliber QB? We're not on the Auburn or FSU level?

You can't comprehend that those are just 2 QBs and there are many others out there who play well as underclassmen, so there's that...
