Apparently a lot of folks who call themselves LSU fans don't know about Michael Brooks.
Before his injury, he was as dominant a football player as I've ever seen.

DE- Spears
DT- Williams
DT- Thomas (I realize the DTs might be controversial but as good as Dorsey was, I feel he was slightly overrated)
DE- Estay (a great but too often overlooked Tiger)
LB- Brooks
LB- Duhe
LB- Capone (We have had some beasts at LB)
CB- Peterson (one of the easiest calls on here)
CB- Claiborne (tough one but a slight nod over some other great corners)
S- Cassanova (the only 3 time AA at LSU - 'nuff said)
S- Adams (Better than LaRon? Yeah, I think by a little bit)

Nickel- Mathieu (had to make a spot for him)

And don't forget how good Cannon was reputed to be as a defensive player in the 2-way days. Freaky speed, too.

I'm not diminishing Webster as a player. I think its crazy how much great corner back play we've seen in the last 15 years. However, I think Tre White is getting undeservedly diminished for two reasons. First, we're spoiled by what we've seen for the last 15 years. Second, he was not a consistent or safe punt returner. But just consider that he locked down half a field for 4 years. I can't remember watching a player get thrown at less than he was thrown at in 2016. I know that people think we just reload at CB, and we do, but I promise we are going to miss Tre White in the early party of next year.

Webster was awesome for LSU. He was a 3-time 1st team All-SEC selection and a two-time All American after converting from WR. He had 7 Ints. two seasons in a row (which was 1st and 2nd in the SEC). He has the 2nd most interceptions all-time for LSU.

He was a huge playmaker in the biggest games (especially during LSU's NC run under Saban). He was SEC and National Defensive Player of the Week against Georgia at home (which was a gigantic game) where he intercepted the ball to clinch it for LSU, he intercepted Eli Manning at Ole Miss in the battle for the West, had two picks against Arkansas to clinch the West at home and he had a huge interception that led to our first score against OU in the national championship. He got hurt his senior year and couldn't put up the same numbers that he was averaging previously, but he was incredible the previous two years when healthy.

LSU has been fortunate to have some awesome cornerbacks.

I would maybe include Mike Williams, DB from early 70s.

I agree with you on White. But you called Webster "pretty good in college" which is the literal definition of diminishing Webster as a player. I don't want to keep hijaking this thread, but to call Webster anything less than a great college CB is utter nonsense.

Amazing how people have forgotten just how great Webster was. I'd consider taking him over both Claiborne

Webster was great. His pick to seal the 03 UGA game was a thing of beauty.

No and I love Adams.

Joins Shawn Burks (1983-85) as the only players in school history to lead the Tigers in tackles three times during their career

Don't forget about Kelvin Sheppard at LB. Also at DT, Michael Brockers was a monster. But there are so many at DT, it's hard to pick just 2-3.

DT - Lavalais, Kyle Williams and Brockers are not getting the love here. They were great Tigers

I agree ridiculous amount of defensive tackle/nosetackle at LSU. I know Leonard Marshall has been mentioned and he was a beast at LSU and for the NY Giants but what about the nosetackle on that team.

Ramsey Dardar was a beast. Kicked Dave Rimington arse up and down the field all game long in the 83 Orange Bowl. You know the guy the Rimington award is named after.

Here is a link to that game for those who havent seen.

People forget just how good LaRon Landry was at lsu. He led the 2003 defense in tackles as a true freshman.

He made 2nd team all sec his True Freshman(and freshman AA) and True sophomore years and 1st team all sec his junior and senior seasons.
He made all sec 1st or 2nd team his entire career at lsu.

Eric Hill, Karl Wilson, and Leonard Marshall were pretty good. Not sure if there's a place on the first team for them though.
