Is non-existent?
Mingo had 4.5 sacks in Montgomery's last year (2012).
I think you have these 2 players mixed up.
2012 Sonic Sam
13tfl
8 sacks
2 ff
37 tackles
2012 Mingo
4.5 sacks
8.5 tfl
1ff
38 tackles
Sam Montgomery is the only lsu player that played 3 years and is top 10 in career sacks. He is tied for 6th alltime.

Exaclty. Montgomery's last season was as productive as Mingo's best season.

In no way was Clark a better player than the guys you had. His best season was 2000 and he was 2nd team all sec. Clark got his name in the pros.

Steltz was a great college player - indeed, an All-American - but I would like to hear your thinking on this one.
First of all, the way nick saban blew his FR season where he should have redshirted was a travesty for the kid, missing a year of contribution.
However he went on to record 11 INTs in 3 seasons.
Landry had 12int in 4.
Adams had 5int in 3.
Steltz's SR year 101 tackles, 5 for loss, 1 sack, 3 FF and 6 INT is better than any singular season that Chad Jones, Laron Landry or Jamal Adams had
JR year, 4 picks, 14 PBU's. Safe to say he played the ball better than any safety in the Saban/Miles era.

I mean 3 of Steltz's picks were in game 1 against MS State, who threw 3 more in that game too. And if a player in the secondary is recording 100+ tackles, that generally means your front 7 isn't doing their jobs.

Leonard Marshall & Henry Thomas should be in there. I would take both over Dorsey.

Where Henry Thomas and Moonie Winston?

In 2007, Dorsey had 69 tackles and 12.5 TFL as DT and played half the season on a bum knee and consistently fighting through double teams. 12.5 TFL as a DT is awesome. I was unaware people thought Dorsey was so overrated. I think some of the revisionist historians subconsciously take into account what certain players did in the NFL. But his college career was outstanding
I've seen Lavalais mentioned ITT. He puts up a great argument no doubt, but people also forget Marcus Spears was playing right next to him and had 13 TFL and 6 sacks, and Marquise Hill, the other DE, had 10.5 TFL and 6 sacks. There was no way to double team anyone on that line. It was probably the best collection of line talent we've ever had. Kyle Williams and Melvin Oliver combined for 10.5 TFL and 8 sacks. That team only allowed 67 yards on the ground per game and 11 PPG for a reason

Trust me I loved Ryan Clark and he was very good at LSU. He Trev and James held that D together with sheer will in 01. But Landry was the most feared secondary hitter in college football in the last 18 years and Greg Jackson was simply awesome. He had 7/8 picks for over 200 return yards and 1 or 2 Tds. He was the best center fielder I've ever seen in purple and gold and could hit too. Chris Carrier is another guy who'd be above Clark he was Laron before Laron, dude laid some lumber. When sec rewind or espn classic shows the games from his era make sure you watch, Carrier is a treat.

I'd probably put Steltz above Clark if we are huge strictly by what they did at lsu.
For some reason when anyone mentions Steltz I think of that hit he had to break up a pass to seal the bama win in 07.

Good comparison that's a tough one. I dunno if I'd have him above Clark but I think Steltz is underrated. One of my buddies went to school with his brother.

he played behind two top 10 picks along the DL. Plus Beckwith and Highsmith who are two of the better LSU LB's in recent memory
He led a national championship defense in tackles, INT and forced fumbles & you gonna sit here and shite on that man! smdh!

If you saw Tommy Casanova play, you would not omit his name from the list.

Yes he was before my time. I only know about Capone because my dad talked about him so much I feel like I know how he played lol.

DT - Glenn Dorsey
DT - Anthony McFarland
DE - Marcus Spears
DE - Eric Hill (played OLB in the 50 scheme)
OLB - Michael Brooks
MLB - Bradie James
OLB - Trev Faulk
CB - Corey Webster
CB - Patrick Peterson
SS - Tyrann Mathieu
FS - Anthony Marshall
* The more recent defense gets, the less Casanovas, Stovalls, and Jeffrey Dales I can put in.

You are sleeping on the best MLB to ever play at LSU, Eric Hill. No one was nastier than him in the game.
Chris Williams, CB ...

A list without Casanova is bogus.
